New York For 8 Nights Day 6

Today taken from our health app we have walked over 14km or over 21000 steps although my feet are sore they aren't as bad as they have been.

We have a reservation for the Federal Reserve Bank Gold Vault tour. So before that we took the subway to the High St stop in Brooklyn so we could walk back to the Manhattan side over Brooklyn bridge.

Once we crossed over we went in search of what I had wanted to see for a long time. This is a little bit sad but I am a big fan of Law and Order SVU and of Blue Bloods so wanted to see the Supreme Court and PP1 (1 Police Plaza) !

We decided to try and get in for a look. When we went in we could go in but had to go through airport type security managed to set it off when I forgot my belt.So we had a look around the main foyer we couldn't take any photos none allowed.

So only pics of the outside inside tho the ceiling had some lovely paintings done.

Next up was 1PP couldn't get very close but managed to get a few photos of the outside

We still had some time till our tour so stopped off for a coffee at a place on Fulton St forget the name but was nice and had good wifi.

Anyway got to the Federal Bank in plenty of time and checked in for the tour. Again it was airport type security and then we were shown up to the tour start area. There was 15 on our tour but I think the max is 30. There was a few exhibits to look at such as $380000 in $1 dollar bills in a huge box, and $38 million shredded dollars.
We were taken down to the vaults which are 80 feet below the streets and below the subway on the bedrock of Manhattan.
It was pretty interesting and worth doing if u can get the tickets.

Again no pics allowed inside but took this one of the outside. The iron work outside and in the building was tendered out when the bank was built and the company who one the tender had only the owner and one employee he had to hire another 200 people but got the work because of his reputation for his work.

Next was a walk to Chinatown and popped into a Christmas Shop there

Carried on into Little Italy and had an early dinner in The Mulberry Street Bar.

This was the bar that Sam Smith made his video for Love You Like I Can.

Had these garlic dough balls which were lovely

And some pizza would recommend this place if you are in the area very nice it was

Almost forgot when we were walking to China town passed a film crew filming outside one of the court houses next to a Correctional facility. I asked one of the crew what they were filming and it was Blue Bloods only one of my fav shows and Donnie Wahlburg had just finished filming so missed seeing some of it filmed by about 5 mins 😞

Ended up on Broadway and stopped off at Max Brenners again for a hot chocolate before catching subway back to hotel.

Once back we did some packing and watched the first in the new series of the Following.

Tomorrow is last full day not sure what we are doing yet.
