Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
October 19 - November 17, 2002
Now in its seventh year, a month-long festival celebrating the world’s great foods, wine and beer. Features culinary samplings, wine and beer tastings, elegant dinners and renowned live entertainment. More than 20 international food and wine marketplaces around World Showcase Lagoon represent different regions of the world, with appetizer-sized portions from $1-$4.50. The “Party for the Senses” food and wine grand tasting, Reserve Dinners, Signature Dinner Series, Vertical Tastings and Food and Wine Pairings showcase international food and wine throughout the festival. The prestigious Bordeaux Wine School offers an accredited wine education program Nov. 7-10 at Bistro de Paris in the World Showcase.

Complimentary 45-minute wine seminars and tastings at The Terrace between France and Morocco in World Showcase and at Innoventions West in Future World. More than 70 wineries are conducting seminars this year.
More than 20 international food and wine marketplaces around World Showcase, with wine and appetizer-sized portions from $1-$4.50. New marketplaces this year showcasing the culture, foods and wines of their regions include “Discover Andalucia, Spain” and “Explore the Western Cape of South Africa.”
For beer lovers, there will be more than 20 national and international beers featured around World Showcase and a specialty beer garden near American Adventure. Returning for a second year in the American Adventure courtyard is “The History of Beer in America” presented by the Boston Beer Company, makers of Samuel Adams beer, with free seminars and tastings.
“From Vine to Wine” guided tour by the Robert Mondavi Family of Wines with complimentary tastings, located near the entrance to World Showcase overlooking the lagoon at World Showcase Bridge.
Culinary Demonstrations daily at The Terrace in an open-air venue between Morocco and France. Tips on grilling and other secrets of the trade from Walt Disney World chefs and celebrity guests. Also complimentary wine seminars, a wine shop, wine tasting bar and artisans.
The prestigious Bordeaux Wine School offered for the first time in North America is an accredited day-long wine education program with lunch and certification. Nov. 7-10, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Bistro de Paris in the France pavilion, $100, park admission required.
“Party for the Senses: Eat, Drink and Celebrate.” Replacing the festival’s Grand Tasting this year is a hip, new food and wine event in World Showplace between the United Kingdom and Canada pavilions, with 12 eminent chefs and 15 international wineries. 6-9 p.m. Saturdays, includes VIP seating for the “Eat to the Beat!” Concert Series and viewing for “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth”; $79 per person (Epcot admission required).
Signature Dinner Series features themed evenings reflecting the world’s great wines and food. Five-course dinner with Walt Disney World chefs, with wines paired by vintners from up to three selected wineries. Hosted at a different Disney signature restaurant each week. 6-9 p.m. Sundays; $100 per person.
Reserve Dinners. An elegant, six-course menu with celebrity chefs and Walt Disney World chefs, in the Wonders of Life VIP dining room, Future World. Reserve wines chosen by vintners who share their passion and knowledge throughout the meal. Limited to 36 guests. 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, includes private viewing area for “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.” Jackets requested for men; $150 per person.
Food & Wine Pairings at the Coral Reef Restaurant in The Living Seas pavilion, Future World, from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Four varietal wines paired with food by a wine expert. Limited to 30 guests. $30 per person (Epcot admission required).
Vertical Wine Tastings. Wine aficionados can taste at least 10 vintages from stellar producers and hear VIP wine speakers at Ariel’s at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, 2-3:30 p.m. Saturdays; starting at $75.
Junior Chef Program “Making Nestle Toll House Cookies” experience at The Land pavilion in Future World for youngsters 4-10.
Pumpkins & Gourds Galore! Colorful fall harvest showcased in The Land pavilion greenhouses and experienced during the boat tour.
