Thank you, hopefully now I can claim on the insurance. Virgin told me they couldn't help me today (after being on hold for 3 hours) and to call back when I was 72 hours away from my holiday as the situation may change... are they mad?

It’s a joke virgin have £10,000 of our money and won’t talk to me till 72 hours before I travel.
Do they think trumps going to change his mind, it’s alright for virgin to ask the government from billions of pounds !

I'm not going until July but read something similar at disney vacation club.

Due to higher than usual calls, they ask that only members travelling within next 3 days contact them.

Not that that is much consolation to you-sorry.

For those dibbers who are due back next week (thought I saw some dibbers due back wednesday)there are flights from Canada to the UK.

youwill need an ETA (visa waiver programme).
I saw flights direct from Toronto to Gatwick for €140 euro.

If you can get to Toronto from from USA, that may e an option rather than being stranded in US.

For the record, flights go from vancouver, Montreal and Toronto AND SOME go to gatwick, glasgow, edinburgh, manchester and cardiff.

They also fly direct to Dublin.

You may also be able to leave us via caribbean islands as I think there are flights from there to Uk and Ireland. I'll check. Its just other options for those who want to get home.

There are many flights from USA (inc Orlando and Miami and Fort Lauderdale) to Canada, toronto, vancouver, monteal and Ottowa and loads of others for approx €72 to €100 euro.

As I say, these flights all booking up fast. Just in case anyone is stranded because of the ban-there are alternative routes.

Also the ETA costs 7 canadian dollars and most can be approved in minutes BUT some can take from 72 hours to several weeks!

There still seems to be some 1 way tickets from orlando via JFK,BOSTON and NEWARK to Dublin next week and possibly the UK with american airlines/aer lingus/british airways-ALL IAG group.

Thanks so much for posting this - it saved me holding on for three hours. Due to fly on 22 April with my daughter for a specific event in Orlando. Have cancelled hotel as the event has now been cancelled- I am not sure when the event is going to be rescheduled - it could be 2021 so not keen on a holiday voucher...guess I just need to wait!

Thanks again.

I believe BA have cancelled all Orlando flights, but are still flying to other US cities including Miami. I was due to fly to Miami on Thursday, but clearly now can’t but the flight isn’t cancelled as they are returning US citizens. Therefore, I assume UK pax will be able to return to the UK.
