Time for home, but not before we had a bit more enjoying to do!
We had most the packing finished so after a last coffee on the balcony we went across for a selection of breakfast pastries from the Marketplace, and ate it in the Solarium. We still had credits left, so we bought breakfast for a family in the queue - it was their first day and they were very surprised, but pleased. After breakfast we bought a few more sweets with leftover credits then after finishing the packing we left our lovely Beach Club and headed off to Disney Springs to check in at the VA desk.
It was quite busy, but we were soon on our way to Fantasia golf, where it was very busy, of course it was a Saturday, and we ended up playing the Fairways course by which time we were thinking about lunch! Celebration Town Tavern was calling us, so that's where we went, a little walk around and look in a couple of shops then we went for lunch- it's always lovely there and the staff are very friendly. We all really enjoyed our late lunch, particularly the Clam Chowder which is my favourite and had no room for a dessert.
Unfortunately it was time to head to the airport, luckily there were no hold ups on the way, and we got through security quite quickly then settled down with coffees in departures. The flight was in time, meals were good and we even slept for a while (a first!) and before we knew it we were driving up the motorway home - another great trip over too quickly.
Time to plan the next one 🙂

DVC Magic

Our last full day, how does it always come round so quickly? I usually like to get the packing out of the way, so after breakfast on the balcony again we all did our own thing for a while. I stayed in the villa and spent an hour or so packing mine and Russ cases and the spare case with a lot of the shopping in it. Russ went out round the pool (I like to pack in peace on my own!) , Helen went to MK to do some last rides and to find a Tinkerbell ice cream! We had arranged to meet up at Disney Springs later in the day.
When I'd finished fighting with the suitcases , I joined Russ at the pool and we spent a couple of hours relaxing in the sun, reading and having a dip in the pool before having lunch at the Marketplace .
Once fed and watered we got a bus to the Springs where we went straight into the Coca Cola store to get some of the limited edition coke bottles for our nephew, and as we were coming out of there Helen messaged to say she was nearly there so we went to meet her at the bus stop and headed straight to the House of Blues bar for a cold drink and to enjoy some live music before browsing the store. We wandered around doing a bit more shopping, and when Helen was buying stuff in the Harley Davison shop I was happy to see the same top that I got for $19.99 at the outlet, on sale for $74.99!! I love thinking I've got a bargain 😆
We had an ADR at Planet Hollywood for 7.30 and we hadn't eaten there in a few years so we're looking forward to trying the new menu. We were shown to a table next to the kitchen door, so asked to be moved as the door was opening and closing constantly and servers passing with dirty plates. Once we moved, we got settled down with lovely drinks and waited for our food (no bread service here). The server wasn't very attentive at all and we're still waiting to order a second drink! When the entrees came they all looked nice but Russ said his burger was just ok, my steak was awful - so dry, and the veg was really hard and tasteless and and I left most of it, Helen ordered fish, she got the same veg, and she too only ate a small amount of it - so disappointing and when the server took the plates away he didn't even comment. Desserts were better, but not amazing and to be honest we couldn't wait to leave, we left a much smaller tip than expected. We could have kicked ourselves, as there are so many fab places to eat at DS 😕, still you live and learn! When we got back to the villa, Helen did her packing and we went for a hot chocolate before bed. Almost time for home!

Another gorgeous morning - the weather has been amazing for November! We were off to Universal again, so we set off straight after breakfast at the Marketplace, earlier than last time in case it was manic again, especially as it was Memorial Day and Universal do a Memorial Day parade. Traffic was better today , and when we got there the queues for security were really short so we were in quickly. Still don't know why Monday was so busy!
We walked around the lake to the Simpsons area, and had a look around and took photos before queuing for the ride, we didn't wait too long and all loved it - it's always a great ride. We then put our stuff in lockers and went on Men in Black - I'm always worst at these rides but I like them! None of us wanted anything fried for lunch so we went round to Beverly Hills Boulangerie, the food is always really fresh in there - We got 2 turkey croissants, DH and I shared one and I had Key Lime pie while he enjoyed chocolate cake and we all enjoyed a rest from the heat. We checked where the parade would be and got a spot , but hardly anyone was waiting - or even watching when it started, it was very patriotic. We decided to do the Simpsons again before moving onto other areas, and got right into the ride room when I suddenly felt unwell so I left the other 2 - they were in the car already - and sat outside till they came off. It was strange, I just felt that I wanted to lie down, my legs felt like lead and the thought of going on rides was horrible. On Monday it was DD who wasn't well, now me - the curse of Universal! Anyway DD said she'd go off and do her own thing while we took it easy, I wanted DH to go too but he wouldn't. After a cold drink we went into the Horror Makeup show, followed by ET - hardly a ride!, Animal Encounters show and kept stopping for drinks etc. In the meantime DD had been on Spider-Man, Kong, back to Harry Potter, both sides, and other rides. She bought a Hogwarts hoody, and had snacks and butterbeer to keep herself going. Eventually we rode the Hogwarts Express over to meet her, and waited at Starbucks with coffees and DH got a Cinnabon till she was ready before browsing the shops on the way out. I was really disappointed that we hadn't spent the day together doing all the rides as we planned but it was just one of those things! So I still haven't been on Kong or Jimmy Fallon. We went straight back to the Beach Club instead of going for a meal and I was in bed and asleep 20 mins after we got back. They both went for food just in the resort - it's been a long day!

No coffee this morning, we were up and walked straight along to the Ale & Compass for breakfast - we loved this when it was Captains Grill so we're keen to see if it was as good. The buffet area doesn't include hot food as - although it's only 1TS you also order an extra n red. We also had a mimosa along with coffee. We all enjoyed pastries, bagels and cheeses etc before the entrees DH enjoyed his American Breakfast, I ordered Blueberry pancakes, not realising that they also had chunks of (hard) bacon in them which I didn't really like. DD hasn't tried shrimp and grits so she got that - it was huge and came in a tomato stew with a poached egg on top. We both enjoyed the buffet better than the entrees - probably just our choices though.
After breakfast DD got the boat to Hollywood Studios and DH and I went to play golf at Fantasia Gardens. We used some credits to buy a family their ice creams after the golf and they were delighted with some pixie dust, then we headed back and got the Friendship over to HS to meet DD, and to check out the Christmas decorations which had now appeared. It looked lovelyand we met at the Baseline Taphouse where we cooled off with an Orange Cider before going into Indiana Jones with Funnel Cake and ice cream to share. We haven't watched this for ages and it was cut short - there was no plane scene this time, but we still enjoyed it. It was time for our Toy Story Mania FP - of course I came last as usual! and we took more photos of ToyStory Land then wandered over to see Beauty and the Beast. While DD and DH went on Rock and Roller Coaster, I bought a frozen lemonade so it would soften if before they came back! I had a look in a few shops and just enjoyed the atmosphere. We decided to get something to eat and went over to the Backlot Express where we all had chicken tenders and fries - with loads of BBQ sauce. It was quite dark now and the lights were coming on, lively! We watched the Jedi training again while we ate. We then went back over to the Tower of Terror and watched the Christmas Flurry for ages, the snow was gorgeous and the whole place was buzzing. After this we went to get a place for Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam which was on over the Chinese Theatre. This was good, but I enjoyed the Flurry better. Crowds weren't bad and we got the first boat back, walking through YC and buying treats at the Ale & Compass Marketplace. Can't believe how quickly the holiday is going!!

No bus to catch today, we were walking over to Epcot again. After a coffee and quick game of snooker at the resort, we headed straight to Sunshine Seasons for a snack breakfast - we love a cinnamon roll! We watched the dancing fountains, and shopped in Mousegear - sending our stuff back to the resort before using our first FP on Test Track and checking all the cars out afterwards.
We only had 1 other FP booked for later in the day so went back into the World Showcase to 'do' the pavilions properly. We watched Oh, Canada and looked in all the shops there and in the UK before crossing the bridge to France for a Grey Goose slush and creme brle. Then we watched Impressions de France followed by a Macaron ice cream sandwich. DD decided to go back to Future World and we just took the rest of the day slowly wandering around the lake, stopping in each country and watching entertainers etc. We had lunch at Liberty Inn, then watched the American Adventure and bought a couple of decorations in the shop.
As it got dark we met up with DD in Italy ready for our ADR in Tutto Italia, a new restaurant to us. DD had been back on Test Track and used the FP on Mission Space as well as trying some of the F&W booths and sneakily getting me a Geir gift set in Norway to put away for DH for Xmas.
In Tutto Italia we were given olives and breadsticks etc while we ordered, DD (40) was asked for ID and showed her driving licence which she's used everywhere all holiday. It was refused , quite rudely, by the manager. She actually had a photocopy of her passport but stopped taking it as she'd never been asked for it! So she had Orangina. The food was really nice and the service a little too prompt as I think they were starting to get ready for closing. The waiter was very nice to us, bringing extra olives etc, trying (we thought) to make up for the rudeness earlier. We would eat there again to give them another chance as we did enjoy the food. We saw the end of Illuminations as we came out and had a quick walk back to BC along the banks of the Seine 🙂.

Today we were up early (for us!) as we were heading to Universal Studios, so we obviously went in the car. As we drove up to the parking areas at the Studios the lines of cars were very long waiting to get in but we got parked and those lines were nothing compared to the chaos and crowds waiting to go through the bag scanners! I've never, ever seen so many people together at Universal - and there was no organisation or order! Nightmare. It took ages, kids were crying, adults were pushing - not a great start to the day.
Once we got through there, then the ticket machines and were finally in the park, we made a rookie error and went to the first ride which was Despicable Me - again we queued longer than usual but really enjoyed the ride ! Yay, one ride done 😊
After this we went to Transformers which again, is a great ride; and then needed a cold drink! We decided that today we would concentrate on the Harry Potter areas as we knew we'd be back another day to do the rest, so we went straight to Diagonal Alley as DD hadn't seen this part. We wandered around checking out all the shops, and the nooks and crannies of the theming before going on the Gringott's ride, we had decided to go as single riders as the wait time was 45 minutes. This plan worked and we were on in 10 mins and in cars quite close to each other. Then we went in again! Great fun 🎢. We waited and caught the dragon breathing fire, then had a gorgeous ice cream from Fortescue's.
next was the Hogwarts Express over to Hogsmeade, and again lines were longer than expected but worth the wait. We had a good look in shops and spotted some of the singers, the headed to the Forbidden Journey where again we used the single rider line to go on twice. On there it really doesn't matter if you're sat together as you can't even see each other on the ride. By now we were ready for lunch so the 3 Broomsticks was calling us - we all liked the 2 Smoked Chicken Platters, 1 Chicken Salad and a side of Wedge Fries.
After our late lunch, and a Butter Beer for DD we went for a less hectic attraction and went to go on Poseidon and the rides at Seuss Island , then went for a Starbucks and DD went in the arcade for a while. The day had taken longer than expected, but we had 'done' Harry Potter thoroughly as we wanted, and DD wasn't feeling great so we left and drove back to BC. None f us we're hungry enough for a proper meal, so we hot snacks from BC Marketplace - DD and I had the Clam Chowder which is a snack credit and is the same chowder that Cape May serves. We enjoyed the day, but in all the time we've been going we've never seen Universal as busy especially on a Monday in November!

Today we were very excited for our California Grill brunch and got the MK bus in good time - but as it was RunDisney weekend the roads were rammed and we ended up getting there a little late at 10.50am,but no worries we were seated straight away and had a great window seat view. Bottomless blueberry mimosas were on offer, and we were also offered another cocktail or drink which we ordered with our entrees - but before then there was the amazing buffet to enjoy, and it WAS amazing! So much choice ....by the time the entrees arrived we could hardly do them justice. But we coped, and also managed coffee and mini desserts. 😊
After a long, lazy brunch we waddled round the Contemporary, saw the Christmas display , and shops - DH bought a shirt (to put away for our Disney cruise next year!) and DD bought more decorations. Next was the monorail round to the Grand Floridian where we just had a wander and bought soaps in Basin before heading to the Magic Kingdom.
Main Street looked fab, suddenly it was Christmas and we spent time looking at the decorations before our 7DMT FP, but it was down and it started raining quite heavily - and didn't stop, lots of people sheltered in Big Top Treats. We went into Country Bears which is corny but fun, and Pirates, but it was still raining so we rode BTM and got wet so we dipped into the Little Mermaid ride and DD decided that since she was wet, she'd ride Splash Mountain just as the rain stopped. On the way to Tomorrowland Terrace we stopped in Memento Mori where DD got one of those spooky photos taken.
Next stop was checking in for the Happily Ever After Dessert Party, and we really enjoyed the sweet and savoury treats while looking out at - yes, the pouring rain and we'd booked the Plaza Garden view! Just before it started we buckled up and stood outside, in the end we may as well have been stood under a shower - it was biblical, and everyone was soaked to the skin, but it was a great display and we had an amazing view - but no pics as it was too wet. Needless to say, we headed out of the park straight after as we wanted to get into dry clothes and luckily got on the first bus. We collected hot choc from the Marketplace and drank in our PJs. Another great, if soggy, day. 😊
