So our time in Madeira Beach has come to an end for another year. We had to be out of the condo for 10.0 am but our flight wasn’t till 7.20 pm. We got up and had breakfast and finished the final bits of packing and weighing of cases. Some rejuggling had to be done but we got there in the end.

The new Star Wars movie had been released at midnight so we decided that would be a great way to spend a few hours. We went here and got tickets, popcorn and a coke for $30, almost cheaper than 2 tickets for the local Odeon at home!!

Luxury, electrically reclining seats........ amazing!! I’ve never been so comfy in a cinema. The movie was fab too.

A final stop in here for some last supplies. Then we were on the road by 2.30pm. Thankfully we did as we got caught up in a traffic jam due to a couple of accidents on the way!

We got to Avis around 3.30 pm. Dropped the car off and headed over to bag drop. By 4.10 pm we were in the queue for security, it want too long before we were into departures. Tampa doesn’t have a lot to offer i don’t think, but there was a new food court so we grabbed a burger and fries and headed to the gate to wait. I got changed into long trousers for the cold ahead at home.

The incoming flight was late which in turn delayed us. We took off about 20 minutes late and landed on time. DS picked us up at Edinburgh and we headed home. Unfortunately, there was a bad accident on the M77 and we were held up for about an hour with the 3 lanes being closed, God bless those involved.

Home and unpacked and settled down to watch the Strictly final, well done Joe, so well deserved.

So that’s our last US adventure for the year, roll on January so I can get started planning our hols for next year. Thanks all for reading along and a Merry Christmas. 🎄🎅🏻

So our last full day arrived, it’s come round way too quickly, neither of us are ready for home. After doing some packing, we headed out for some beach time, oh it was a hot one today!

Around 3.00 pm the clouds rolled in and stole our sun so we packed our beach bag up and dumped it in the condo. We headed for a final walk along the beach towards John’s Pass. It was breezy but still pleasant. We walked back along the street and I stocked up on photos of apartment blocks that I’m going to google and see what the rental prices are like, although we do love the condo we’re in. These ones were just being built last year and look gorgeous from the outside.

Already for our dinner but waiting for Check-in to open.

This place is new and what a find! Thai food and it was delicious. I’d definitely recommend it. And reasonably priced.

A quick daiquiri before heading back and curling up on the couch to watch Four Christmases. The reality of leaving in the morning setting in!! 😥

Sorry for the delay, Tuesday and Wednesday were very similar! We had the beach pretty much to ourselves during the day.

On Tuesday we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, love this place.

We stopped in at Target on the way back. Brilliant decorations here! 🎄

More football after a day on the beach yesterday.

Saw another stunning sunset before heading out.

We went here for dinner. The food was really good.

They had electric heaters on which gave us a really red glow 😂

There was some really good live music on so we had a few drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Love the Christmas decorations.

By the time we left at 10.00 pm everything was closed so no browsing around John’s Pass tonight!

So it was Home and listen to some music before heading to bed. A fab 2 days and our last full day tomorrow! 😥 it’s gone way too fast!

Today started with a breakfast of homemade pancakes followed by a walk along the beach to North Reddington Shores. We walked for an hour on the beach then walked back along Gulf Boulevard looking at some of the beautiful properties in Reddington Beach.

It was cool on the way out but very soon we had our sweatshirts off and enjoyed the sun.

We got back to the condo at around 12.00 and had last night’s left over pizza for lunch. Then into our swimmers and down to the beach for some sunbathing. This was our spot for the next few hours. $25 a day, but as we were only having it from 12.45, we were charged $20. Comfy beds and the hood was fab for keeping the breeze off us.

This is how close our apartment block is to the beach, ours is the 3 window up.

I must take at least one of these type of photos a day, but I just love the view, the sun reflecting on the sea is so perfect.

We weren’t alone on the beach, there were other sunbathers, however, there were people walking by fully wrapped up with jeans and fleeces on!! How would they cope with the current temperatures back in Scotland! 😂😂❄️❄️

Around 4.30 we headed up to shower and change. We’d decided to head to Dockside Dave’s for dinner. We wandered down only to find it was closed!! Where to go now? We opted to jump in the car and head to Outback or Sonny’s, we couldn’t remember which one we came to first on the road so agreed to go into whichever did come first. Turned out to be Outback, however, the manager met us on the way in. The grill hood was busted so all he could offer was salad and fries, no chicken or steak!! No thanks.

So back in the car, it was beginning to feel like we weren’t supposed to eat tonight! We drove a bit further along and came to Sonny’s. We both had the rib dinner, full rack, 2 sides, garlic bread and crinkle fries, and because she’d been held up coming to take our order (we weren’t bothered by this) our server offered an appetiser on the house. It was all really tasty and at $37 without tip was a bargain dinner.

Back home and before long our early start and 2 hour walk caught up with us and we were in bed by 10.00 pm. Hottest day of our week tomorrow so it will be mainly lying in the sun.

So today started like this! 4 football matches in a row, starting at 7.30 am!

We then ventured out for a walk along the beach. Still not quite hot enough for sunbathing. We did go with shorts and tshirts while everyone around us had jeans, hoodies and jackets on.

We stopped in here for some drinks, sitting in the sun and listening to the singer they had on. A lovely, relaxing afternoon.

He sang a really good mix of music.

This is what we came all the way from freezing Scotland for 🌞🌞

We had a lovely stroll back along to the condo.

I love this place 💕

We made pizza and some TGI Friday boneless chicken and settled in for the night. Our early start caught up with us and we were in bed by 9.30 - so rock n roll!!

Managed to sleep till 7.30 am, bonus! Got up and had this little beauty for company. I watched a Christmas movie while DH slept on for a wee while.

As the weather wasn’t looking great for today we decided to make this our shopping day. We had to head over this very steep causeway to get to our destination!!

Sooooo steep!!

We were headed here for some shopping. OMG the heavens opened when we were there. We looked so out of place in our shorts and tshirts.

We manège to while away a good few hours and dollars. I got 5 candles in Yankee Candle, the Feliz Navidad is just Christmas in a jar for me! I was treated to a gorgeous soft leather bag in Coach but that’s for Santa to bring. DH got some a couple of polo shirts in Lacoste at $39.99 each, complete bargain. Some nike socks for both DS and some running gear for DH in Adidas. Shoe rack is always good for Nike flip flops which I love to use as slippers around the house.

Well worth the 50 minutes drive.

Our sunset view as we settled down for the night with It’s a Wonderful Life.

So we’re off for our week in the sun! Although on checking the forecast it’s not looking good temperature wise!

So 4.45 am at Glasgow Airport, what else is there to do but take some #elfieselfies.

Flight went well, left on time at got to Gatwick with no probs. Our fiat time at the South Terminal, not impressed at all. Had some food in the Wetherspoons, and a couple of pre-flight drinks.

Before looking by our gate was posted and it was time to board. We grabbed a quick costa and the gate, Black Forest hot chocolate for me.

We had the set of 2 seats in row 39 at the very back of the plane. Great that we’re sitting on our own, not so great for food choice and service delay!

The flight was extremely bumpy, for this first time ever I actually felt physically sick on a flight! The IFE had to be reset in the air as it wasn’t working, it was only playing on a loop to begin with. After the reset ours was still not working, a quick word with one of the crew and ours was reset again and it worked. 3 movies and a couple of The Big Bang Theories, some sleep and food and we were getting ready to land.

Sausage and mash for our meal. A chicken Caesar wrap and tobelerone for our snack and the routine drinks service. I asked for prosecco which they didn’t have in economy but the stewardess came back later with a bottle from PE, that was nice.

This was our worst experience of a BA flight, not bad as such just seemed very chaotic although the staff were all pleasant enough. And the flight was by no means full in any of the cabin classes.

Avis Preferred was smooth, prepaid fuel and got a free cheeky upgrade from a Ford Escape to a gorgeous Ford Edge.

We did a Walmart shop on the way to the condo, some essentials for breakfast and snacks etc.

Managed to stay up till 10.00 pm.
