Travel home day started with a rude awakening over the central tannoy to tell us the power was out at 7.30 am. We dosed on and off till 9.00 then got up and had showers. The plan was to eat the food we had left, but this wasn’t looking hopeful. It was 11 degrees outside, very windy and pouring with rain. The perfect day to be going home.

The power came back on at 10.30 am and we had a feast of bacon, omelette and pancakes with ice cream. We stripped the bed and washed and dried the bedding and towels. We cleaned up and watched the last episode of season 2 of Stranger Things.

After a while it was time to leave. I wanted to stop by Walmart to pick up some more M and Ms (peanut butter) and then we were off to the airport.

We had our last drinks on Canadian soil. We made our way to the gate and left on time. The flight was 6 hours 5 minutes and with holding ended up being just a wee bit more. I watched 2 movies and we had some food.

We landed around 6.15 am and our flight to Glasgow was 8.20 so we made our way to Terminal 5, A gates to wait for our gate to be announced. After an uneventful flight to Glasgow where I finally got some sleep, we were back on Scottish soil and DS2 collected is.

So our Toronto trip is over, it’s likely going to be 3 years before we’re back, but we’ve had an absolute ball again. Thanks for reading if you have.

DVC Dream

I don’t have any other photos from today. We packed out other case, and we’re heading to my aunt’s sister’s house for our last dinner. We get on so we’ll with all of them. We had a lovely final afternoon and are now back on the condo snuggled up to watch some tv and have an early night.

Our AirBnB host has been in touch to say we can leave at any time so that’s good. We’re all checked in and boarding passes downloaded.

I’ve taken our last night views from the balcony before we watch some more Stranger Things. Travel home day tomorrow 😓😥 after a fantastic trip.

Today started with a visit to Dixie Mall with my aunt and uncle. We were all feeling a bit tired after the late night before. I had wanted to get a Canada t-shirt and found this one for $10.

We also picked up some more Halloween candy for the grandkids and a birthday card for later.

I also treated myself to this lovely warm scarf for through the winter.

Then it was back to my uncle’s house for a couple of hours downtime. We sat outside with the dogs, this is Molly.

And this is Buddy.

This is Cocoa who they are looking after for my cousin who’s on holiday. They also have little Stella who was very camera shy.

After this we headed to my aunt’s niece’s house for her wee boy’s 10 birthday party. The temperature had dropped today so we mostly sat in the garage with the heater on having a few drinks and such a good laugh. It was another late but great night.

We had seen adverts around the city for a Banksy Exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art. So we decided this would be today’s destination. We Google mapped the museum before we went. We jumped on the streetcar, then walked for about 25 minutes through a residential area of the city. $90 for the 2 of us and we were all set. We collected our audio guides and headed in.

These are a few of my favourite pieces that we saw.

While looking at one piece this random balloon appeared from above, I’m not sure it was actually part of the exhibition.

We both found the artwork and audio guide very interesting indeed.

We then headed back to the main road and headed into the city on foot again. We walked through little Italy, Little Portugal and Chinatown before reaching Yonge Street. DH took this photo of some street art on the way.

We were hoping to go to the Hard Rock Cafe for food, however, it’s no longer there, it’s now a Shoppers Drug Mart!! Oh well into the Eaton Centre food court. I had sushi and DH had Szechuan. Both were very tasty.

We headed out to the streetcar stop and I saw this sign about the Santa Parade.

While we waited I was mesmerised by this reflective building.

And I love this building too.

Onto the street car and back to the condo for a quick change. We were off out to more friends of my aunt and uncle. We had drinks and the guys ended up going to a bar. My aunt and I eventually went to pick them up at 1.30, we grabbed some pizza slices to eat on the way home and were in bed by 2.15 am. A late night but a good night.

Sorry for the delay, I’ve really lapsed in my updates.

We didn’t do much today. We had a good lie in, then did some packing. I re-did my nails while we watched the first episode of Season 2 of Stranger Things. Then we decided to go out for a walk around Humber Bay Park across from the condo. I love this view across the lake.

We walked for around an hour along the lake shore and back to the condo.

This military helicopter flew over, we wondered if there was someone important on board.

This hairy caterpillar crossed our path, it was moving fairly quickly.

My uncle came to collect us around 5.00 and took us to his favourite restaurant. We’d been with them on previous holidays. The food is good, the owner is really friendly too, DH got a rather large free drink and we all got complimentary dessert.

On the way home my uncle took us to a shop called Sail so that DH could look for his North Face jacket and he was successful and very pleased with himself.

My uncle had suggested that we go to Port Credit, so that was our destination today. It was around a 20 minute drive. It was a lovely place sitting right in the lake.

We parked in a side street next to this beautiful church. It was already very hot and it was only 10.45 am.

The message board outside the church amused me. Very up to date thinking.

As we walked along we saw a few bikes like this one, embedded into the ground.

We came to a little shopping plaza and went in to Dollarama. We were looking for a small cube usb charger plug and found one in here for $3.00. We also picked up some Halloween candy for the grandkids and a couple of trick or treat bags.

After a wee walk we were hungry so decided on the Pump House Grill for some lunch. With hindsight we should’ve shared, the portions were huge.

To walk off our lunch we walked around the lake, out to the end of the pier. The lighthouse was actually working.

There was a big old tanker at the end of the pier. It didn’t look like it’d moved for a while.

DH liked the idea of this guy’s man cave.

As we wandered around we came across these guys. I think the may have been playing follow the leader! They just marched on by.

I was going for picturesque with this photo? I love the way the branches frame the fountain.

As we headed back towards the car and out of the park we discovered the name.

When we got in the car we weren’t really surprised to see the temperature, it felt every degree of 36!!

We had a few bits to pick up so put Walmart near us into the satnav and set off.

We parked up and headed in. This has to be the grottiest Walmart we’ve ever been in. We got what we’d come for - m and ms, milk and a stash of makeup for me. Then headed out.

These 2 towers looked over the car park. I loved the shape of them.

We dropped in on my aunt and uncle for a wee while, the headed to his local to meet a couple of guys he knows. We only had a soft drink and a beer before heading back to the condo. The sail boats were out on the lake.

We showered and changed and headed along to this Thai place recommended by my aunt n uncle. It was the best meal of the holiday and really reasonably priced.

Sitting back on the balcony we could see lightning in the distance out over the lake. This is my poor attempt to catch a photo. We finished the first season of Stranger Things and headed to bed.

Today was to be our shopping day. So up and breakfast was had. Out to the car for the alleged 25 minute drive which ended up being a 40-45 minute drive as the traffic was bad.

We entered through the Pro Bass shop. We both love a browse through and just get amazed by the stuff on sale.

We went to the right on exiting Pro Bass, we usually go left and grab a drink from Tim Horton.

My first purchase was from Designer Property I think it was called. 2 pairs of flip flops for $10 I was very pleased.

Next up was Michael Kors then Kate Spade but noting caught my eye. DH was looking for a jacket for work and was very disappointed with North Face, so much so we had to visit it again after food!!

We had KFC at the food court, neither of us being able to face meat today after the ribs of yesterday.

I left DH to go back in to North Face on his own and I took a photo of this wee chap in the mall.

I grabbed the 5 for $35 in Victoria Secret.

A sugar boost was needed so we foolishly got 2 of these, half of mine came home with me. But it was oh so good.

At last I found just the right hand bag. It was the last one in this colour so I was a happy girl.

I also dropped in here. I needed some new clear straps for my bras, Victoria Secret didn’t have them but they said to try here. They had them so 2 sets were bought.

DH got some new trainers from Nike, 2 polos from Lacoste and 2 polos for work from Calvin Klein.

Not our most successful shopping trip but we got a few bargains.

Back to the car park via Pro Bass again. There mall display is really good.

We decided to have dinner on the way home. Our third trip to Toronto and our third visit to Montana’s. We were not disappointed, the food and service was as good as always.

I had a Big Momma with my dinner, I can’t remember exactly what’s in it but it tasted very nice.

Then it was home to unpack the shopping and relax for the rest of the evening.
