Apologies in advance for not many photos today.

I’d booked the cottage for 7 nights as that was the only option on Airbnb. So although we were heading home in the evening we didn’t have to be out by a certain time. We went for a walk to John’s Pass as we had a couple of things we wanted to pick up. While we were there we saw a dolphin in the bay, but I just wasn’t quick enough to get a photo.

We strolled back along the beach to the cottage. We were pretty much all packed. We had a wee sit out in the sun. We’d stripped the bed and just had showers to have and get ready. We eventually left at around 3.30pm. Just as well really as the Road was busy the closer we got to the airport.

We found a petrol station to fill up at and made our way to rental returns. Of course on checking the receipt we were charged for a tank of fuel, even though the girl had checked it and marked full on the receipt too!! We had to go to the booth to get it sorted, which the jolly guy did in no time.

Then it was the tram to the terminal, luggage checked in and time for some food. We weren’t overly hungry so decided on Wendy’s over PF Chang or the Hard Rock. It was good enough and filled a hole.

Then through security which was relatively quick, even with one our bags being checked. The flight was uneventful, landing early at Gatwick.

Our next flight back to Glasgow was 11.35. We boarded on time and landed early. Steven was there to collect us and it was home to reality.

Thanks for reading along if you have.

Today involved a really long, lazy day on the beach, for our last full day. Up sharp, toast for breakfast and off we went. $15 for 2 beds and we were settled for the day. I read for a while then dosed a bit, and just completely relaxed. There was a good breeze by the sea so it was a comfortable heat. We were well sun creamed up.

Around 1.30 we crossed back over Gulf Blvd and had some lunch, trying to use up the supplies we had left. Then it was more sun cream and back to our spot on the beach.

The bed guy finished at 5.00 so that was our time in the sun done for the day. We headed for home and started packing. I’d booked an extra case for the return journey luckily. I don’t think we realised how much we’ve bought.

We had a couple of drinks while we got ready to head out for dinner. There were Halloween parties in lots of the bats, we’d already decided to continue with the relaxing theme and opted for the Daquiri Shak for dinner and party. It was only around the corner so suited.

There was a kind of punk/rock live band on. They were dreadful. We had nice food and a few cocktails before heading home.

Nothing planned for today. I got up and pottered around, watched a Christmas movie and then made breakfast for us both. Then we went for a walk along the beach. I love how the birds and people mix on the beach. We walked as far as North Reddington and then cut through and walked back along the road, eyeing up some of the lottery money beach front properties. About 3 hours of walking. It was another hot day too.

This is one of my favourite photos, it’s like a postcard.

On our way back we saw this retro cop car driving up and down Gulf Blvd.

Back at the cottage we had some juice and I sat out and read for a wee while. Stevie sat inside in the cool watching the Scoobydoo then the Adams Family.

This was my spot for the next wee while.

I know I posted the nighttime view of outside, however I thought I’d give you the daytime view.

We got showered and headed to the Mad Beach Brewery for some dinner. Stevie had a burger where the bun was made of deep fried mac n cheese! He had to eat it with a knife and fork. We had a beer cocktail each, they were very nice indeed.

We left there and had a wander through a couple of shops, before stopping in at the Mad Pub for a wee drink. We had a couple while people watching and watching some sports on the many TVs.

By now it was after 9.00 and the shops were all closed. We headed for home, stopping the Bamboo Hut for one for the road.

Once home I had a craving for something sweet so indulged in some milk duds, I love these.

We thought this time of year might be a bit busier than our usual December visit, but it’s actually quieter.

Sorry to those reading along, I’ve inadvertently added Day 17 to the end of Day 16, so it’ll be in twice!

We had over 8 hours sleep last night, that has to be a record for me, not so much Stevie. Breakfast was had before showers and getting ready to head out. The Premium Mall at Ellenton was our destination along with Walmart (peanut butter m and ms are a must from every trip for the girls at work), and CVS for some make up supplies for a friend.

I love the Skyway Bridge.

We headed to Michael Kors first as I was looking for a purse for a friend’s daughter. I’d not found it in Orlando so fingers crossed for here. A few WhatsApp photos and messages and the purse was bought. 70% off plus a further 20% at the till.

Stevie hadn’t got much on our shopping day in Orlando, boy did he make up for it today. He got stuff from Lacoste, Calvin Klein and Adidas. We got some food from the food court and before we knew it, it was almost 4.00 pm.

Back in the car we headed to Target and Walmart for more supplies for home. Makeup, M and Ms, Lucky Charms (these are so expensive at home and the kids love them when they have sleepovers) some more sunscreen and a new suitcase. I’d booked an extra case for the return journey so we didn’t have to worry too much about weight.

Stevie fooling around in Walmart!

By now it was 6.30 pm and lunch seemed a long time ago. Texas Roadhouse was just across the parking lot, so we headed in. It looked busy from outside, but we were seated straight away. These nuts are addictive. Steaks were had and a pudding shared, then we rolled back to the car and home for some tv and relaxing.

The girls at work love these so much.

Another good night’s sleep. Pancakes, OJ, tea and coffee for breakfast, then back to the beach. It was hotter today with very little cloud cover. Stevie was restless, in and out of the ocean. I read for a while then we went a walk along the sand with the tide splashing around our feet. An hour and a half later we gathered our stuff and headed back home for some nibbles and juice.

I sat outside reading for a wee while, Stevie had had enough of the heat so stayed inside with the air con.

After a while we showered and chatted about where to go for food. Screwie Louis’ was chosen. Some clam chowder and the third night in a row of shrimp in some form or another! It was really good and we were both stuffed by the end. Then it was a stroll back round the corner to our little cottage. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy before heading to bed.

Our neighbours are all set for Halloween.

Fooling around in Walmart!

I get the feeling that the next few days are going to present the same photo ops and text from one day to the next.

I’d had texts from the kids to say they’d got home safe and sound.

After our early night last night we’d had a good sleep. We were awake early enough to get a livestream of the Celtic v Aberdeen game, a great result. After this we got up and had some tea and breakfast then headed to the beach. It was hot but cloudy. Sun cream applied we relaxed in the sun for a few hours.

Around 2.30 we were hungry so packed up and headed back for some lunch and had a wee seat outside. I read and Stevie had a nap.

We had a couple of drinks getting ready and headed to John’s Pass for some food. We ate in Sculleys and then headed to the Bamboo Hut for a night cap before wandering back home. A relaxing day doing not very much.

7 become 2 today. The alarm went off at 7.20 for Ben and I to get ready for Universal Studios. Tyler and Steven had decided to come too. We were into Universal for just after 8.00 and straight into the Express queue for RRR which was walk on. Tyler and Ben got front row. I chose I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor as my ride song. I love this coaster, the worst part for me is the initial climb.

We then headed to The Mummy as Tyler and Steven had missed it yesterday. Tyler loved it. Ben had a few bits to get in Daigon Alley so we headed there. By the time we came out the it was 8.40 and the queue for the Hogwarts Express was huge!

None of us had done the Jimmy Fallon ride so we thought we’d squeeze it in. It was good enough, but essentially just another simulator that throws you around a bit.

We had a quick stop for some Jaws photos.

One last ride on RRR before we headed back to the hotel to do the final packing and check out. On the way out Patrick from Spongebob was near the entrance, so a quick photo was taken. Brenda had taken Lilly to the pool for one last swim, she’s such a mermaid. We met them there and at 10.00 am we went back to the room.

Ben wanted to watch the first half of the Killie v St Mirren game in his laptop so we all finished packing while he did that. At 10.55 we left our rooms for one last time and headed to the lobby. I wanted to clear our bill with my Caxton card so had to go to the desk. Steven was happy for his to be paid with the card he’d given.

Ben stayed in the lobby to use the wifi to watch the 2nd half of the match. We headed back to Citywalk to visit Voodoo Donut. We bought a 1/2 dozen. Ooooooh they were so soft and delicious.

By now it was heading towards 12.00 and Steven was getting a bit ancy to get on the road so we headed back to the hotel. Lilly and Brenda jumped in one of the rickshaws and were driven back. We met Ben in the hotel shop, he’d found a sale rail and bought a t-shirt, that boy loves a bargain.

It was now time to go our separate ways. We headed to the cars and said our goodbyes. We were headed to Madeira Beach and they were headed home. I wanted to stop at a nearby Walmart to get my usual supply of Minnie pens for work. They were headed for Tampa Airport (it was significantly cheaper to fly back from here). Kisses and cuddles were given all round and off they went.

We stopped at Walmart, I got what I was looking for and we headed to our next stop. Once near our accommodation we stopped for supplies at the nearby Walmart then headed to the cottage. We’ve stayed here before so knew exactly where we were going. We’d bought nibbles for dinner as we both were too tired to contemplate going out. We unpacked, had a cup of tea and lazily watched tv till about 9.30, then were in bed and sleeping by 10.00........oh dear we are getting old.

The pumpkin display in Walmart.

Ben had a last visit to a Hard Rock Cafe at Tampa Airport.

My $8 bumbag from Walmart. I’d been looking for one at Disney but couldn’t find one I liked.

Our bedroom for the last part of the holiday.
