So I’ve totally failed and didn’t get any photos on our final day.

We were up around 9 finished packing and headed down to the pool we just chilled around the pool and at 11.30 went for a final shower and took out last few bits from the room and checked out. The others decided to stay at the pool and we left for the Vineland outlets. We headed straight for the food court and grabbed a subway all refuelled. We went in a few shops and had a look but didn’t really see anything that took our fancy I wish I’d have brought a Kate Spade bag there was 70% off but I just couldn’t decided what style I wanted! We went into Northface and I managed to get a full length coat for those cold days standing by the side of a football pitch. With extra discounts it was $98 which I was pleased with and Dh got a pair of trainers for $45.

Time had flown by and we needed to head back, the others were showered and ready to go. We got changed and all hit the wawa on the sand lake road to fill up with fuel. We’ve done quite a lot of driving this holiday with Clearwater and a separate Tampa trip and we had used $68 of fuel. All filled we took the drive to the airport the drive was fairly easy traffic was slightly heavy and fortunately I had the $2.50 for the toll road which I’d totally forgot about. However driving into the airport it wasn’t clear where the car return was at first and we ended up having to try and cross 4 lanes of traffic to get in it.

The person from Dollar soon checked the car over, checked the fuel level and gave me a $0 receipt. Our friends hadn’t realised they had prepaid for fuel and because they had returned the car full the lady gave them a refund receipt.

Check in was fairly empty they couldn’t check us in for our connecting flight though but they could check our bags through to Birmingham. We were told they had a limited number of trams on the mono rail and to head straight to our gate. It took about 30 minutes to clear security and get over to the gates. We had about 90 minutes till boarding so asked how long for a table at outback she said 10 to 15 minutes so we put our name down and waited and waited. 30 minutes later we still hadn’t got a table we told them to forget it and grabbed a sandwich each. It was a good job we did because as we collected the sandwiches the flight was called.

It was a lovely flight home and felt much easier than the flight out. The bubble was full but they announced there was a lot of empty seats downstairs so some people moved down to grab a row to sleep on. We stayed put and drinks were brought round followed by dinner. I had the bbq pulled pork with mash and beans the other choice was chicken meatballs again with mash. Food was okay not as good as the flight out but edible. They soon cleared down and dimmed the lights.

Riley and I managed just under 4 hours sleep when we woke there was only 90 minutes till landing and they were just bringing breakfast round. Breakfast was a cheese croissant and awful with a blueberrry yoghurt and a dry oat bar. We all binned it deciding we would grab breakfast when we landed at Glasgow.

We landed 3 minutes early at 8.17am and was some of the first off the plane as upper class were messing around so we went. Straight through immigration and back into the check in desks to Flybe who soon checked us in and issued boarding passes. It was now 9am.

We grabbed a full English each in Weatherspoon’s and again were soon called to boarding. The flight was only 55minuted to Birmingham and we all enjoyed our breakfast and coffee and agreed it was a route we would do again. 20 minute taxi ride later and it was home sweet home back to the rain the first thing we did was stick the heating on!!

Orlando Attractions

Today started with a lay in as we knew it would be a late night at the Magic Kingdom. We popped for a Denny’s breakfast I had the ultimate omelette it’s huge I should have shared with Roo. Then we lay round the pool and started to get ready to leave around 12pm.

We were on the road for 12.30 and with an afternoon arrival parked in Villans Scar. We took the monorail in which we don’t usually do and walked into the park at 1.30pm. We grabbed a group photopass and then walked down main street to grab a spot for the 2pm parade.

As you can see from Riley’s red face on this photo it was burning hot and we were too late to find any shade so we sat outside Casey’s corner and took it in turns to go in for aircon.

Look at the black sky the clouds were rolling in as the parade happened. It was lovely and the kids were so happy when characters waved at them.

Once it finished we had a buzz light year fastpass we were straight on and One of the others managed to score 154,000 the rest of us were much lower!

Next we had an hours break before space mountain so we headed round to meet the characters.

Goofy was a bit disappointing and not really in character. The girls wanted to meet Minnie but the queue was long so they decided to walk round the shop instead. We headed into Dumbo then the kids loved playing in the tent and we all chilled on the benches. As we handed in our pager to go on they closed the ride due to the weather. We walked out to a black sky and lightening but no rain.

Our space fastpass was ready, Dh and Roo had one for the speedway which was down, so they waited for us we couldn’t talk Roo into trying out Space Mountain. For the first time ever I was sent into the left hand side queue and not the right and it is a totally different ride and we all felt it wasn’t as good. We came off and started walking round towards little mermaid when we noticed the rides had reopened so the lads walked back to the speedway.

The car in front of them broke down Riley then drove into the back of it much to the woman’s annoyance apparently. They were back round once the other car was sorted and we walked to our minetrain fastpass as we were in the queue the ride stopped for weather. It was only 10 minutes but our kids were getting tired hungry and miserable they all managed to have an argument about who was sitting with who so it was a rather stressful wait. We all made it round then decided to head for food.

Pinocchios haus was right by us so in we went. I had the baked zizi it was lovely, Quinn had a Mac and cheese flat bread that was okay and Roo had nuggets. All refuelled I had managed to get us a mermaid fastpass. I love this the others weren’t so keen. I grabbed a pirates fastpass so we took a slow walk over popping in the Christmas shop. There was a lady in there with a basket full of ornament I dread to think what it cost!

We spotted the rides were down again because of lightening so we went on pirates and it was now 8pm so we decided to head back to Main Street for a Starbucks and to grab a spot for the fireworks.

Strawberry frap was required and we all just plonked on the floor in the middle of Main Street to wait.

Happily ever after was amazing I had to hold Roo in my arms so he could see and listening to him ohhhh and ahhhh and his excitement when Tinkerbell appeared brought a tear to my eye.

Then started the mass exodus. We hit the emporium and the kids brought a few bits by the time we left there was a 25 minute wait for the ferry. Everyone was shattered and it felt like a long time till we were all in the car on the way home. Roo fell asleep and was soon in bed we sat outside and had rum and coke and toasted to a great holiday.

Tomorrow we couldn’t get a late checkout so we’ve got pool time, check out at 12 so we are going to pop the outlet for a couple of hours as we need to head the airport about 3.30.

Today in Riley’s words had been immense! We were up at 7 and dressed and sun creamed and soon heading for breakfast. We had cereal and toast all was good for an included breakfast. We grabbed our things and took the short 3mile drive to One Buc Place. We had to drive around to work out where to park but soon worked it out.

They scanned our tickets and we were in and being greeted by the pirate all given American football necklaces. We went to the merchandise stand and brought a junior football for Riley to get the players to sign at the end.

There was a great kids zone they could put the uniform and helmet on. They had a net to throw balls at and a bouncy castle to play on. I got talking to a girl working there and she was asking me why we were in Tampa. We got talking about Disney and she was saying she was an annual pass holder and had been to Toy Story land opening day. Riley was more than happy here we eventually dragged him off and round to watch the training. They did some drills in front of us. Dh was dripping with sweat his watch said it was 37degrees and it felt it, god knows how the players manage in full kit. They came round with free ice pops for everyone and then I spotted the inside training venue was open, so we headed in to the air conditioning.

The boys got out Riley’s new football and did some throws in the indoor training pitch they were loving it. A guy came over to say they were clearing the pitch and advised us where to sit. The cheerleaders came in and did a skit for us, then the players came in to train.

We watched the 45 minutes training and as it ended I spotted some people heading outside so we followed them out and managed to stand right where you needed to be to get the players photos and signatures.

One thing about Riley is he is super confident and he was happily shouting the players over he got loads of signatures on his ball and then a player Vinny Curry took off his glove signed it and gave it to him, he was well chuffed.

We headed over to the club shop after and grabbed a game called spot it, a key ring, a Lego player and a clear bag ready for me to use when we go to the NFL games in London in October.

We had originally planned to stay for the 2pm stadium tour but it was only 12 and the weather was starting to change so we decided to drive back. We pulled off for a McDonald’s part way back it was lovely Riley demolished a Big Mac he was starved apparently.

We kept driving through rain on the way back. We got back to the Avanti around 2pm it had clearly rained but the sun was shining now so we hit the pool. Everyone was swimming when the biggest thunder and lightening went off right behind us they immediately cleared the pool and then the rain broke and we had a good downpour. Around 30 minutes later everyone was soon back in the pool.

The others arrived back around 6pm they hadn’t had the day they planned at sea world as the weather had turned as they pulled up so they went off shopping instead and we all decided Longhorns was needed for dinner. We arrived at longhorns at 8pm to be told it was a one hour wait for a table not ideal but the kids all sat on their iPods while we had a drink at the bar. We eventually got our table and lots of steaks were ordered.

Dh went for the Tbone with mash, I had the New York strip with loaded jacket. We both went for salad and corn. The lovely bread came out first with the salads then the real treat came the beautiful steaks. Everyone’s was cooked perfectly and we all enjoyed them. We left around 10.30pm and on the way back one of the other little girls decided she wanted to ride the star flyer and her dad said he would take her on. I’m scared of heights so this is really my idea of hell but they came down both saying it was fab. It was around $12 each plus tax which I didn’t think was bad. We all headed back and decided bed time was on the cards as we were shattered.

Tomorrow is our last full day and the plan is a lie in followed by the morning round the pool and then head to Mk around 12.30pm for the 2pm parade and stay for the fireworks.

Sorry this is a bit late

We started the day with a quick bowl of cereal at the room and all headed off to animal kingdom we were quickly parked in Giraffe and headed in to the park just before 10am our first fastpass was for Flights of passage. We were straight in the ride I did spot the queue time was 60minutes when we entered which I thought was okay and definitely worth joining if you haven’t got a fastpass.

The ride we were all awestruck when we got off wow! Simply amazing we discussed queuing to get back on but the wait time was rapidly rising. We had some photos taken in Pandora watched a guy walking in a big metal suit, then we headed to watch the lion king.

Once again it was a scorcher of a day and we were all glad to get in the aircon. Lion king was a first for all of us and we loved it. Such a great production. We had a safari fastpass next this wasn’t as good as our first ride last week the driver seemed uninterested and he did none of the jokes even Riley commented that he didn’t tease us about the creaky bridge.

We grabbed some food then Dh had the corn on the cob it was delicious, Riley and I shared a turkey sandwich which game with curry crisps it was lovely and plenty to share. We all commented on the quality of the Park food being good.

As we headed round to Everest we spotted a photographer doing some nice shots of the tree so we stood in the queue, well he took forever with every family telling you how to stand straightening clothes. It was hot and I was losing the will but we did get some nice shots.

We had an Everest fastpass to get too I’ve never ridden before we all got in the queue as we got to the front Riley was saying he didn’t want to ride. I think this was partly because he was tired from a late night the night before, I tried to convince him but at the front Dh and him jumped out the queue so I rode alone. Brilliant ride Riley would have loved it so I had a moan at him when I got off then felt awful as he got a bit upset.

I tried to grab us some more fastpasses but most were for a lot later in the day, I grabbed a primeval whirl one for us all and at this point the others said they were going to head home after. After having our bones shaken we headed out the park grabbing another photopass on the way out.

We said our goodbyes as we were driving to Tampa, I’d booked the Best Western for a one night stay it was only 60 with breakfast. The drive took around 1 hour the traffic was heavy as we got into Tampa but it was 4.30pm so to be expected. We dropped straight on to the hotel we use the Tom Tom iPhone app and it’s a life saver. We dumped our things and headed back out to a mall.

There was a big Macy’s dh brought some Levi shorts and a Ralph tshirt the reason being on the drive down I’d realised I hadn’t grabbed his clothes for tomorrow out the wardrobe whoops! We then hit a massive Dick’s sporting goods I would definitel recommend a visit. I got ds some lovely reebok tshirts for $9.99 each you’ll see him wearing one in tomorrow’s photos. He had a bucs bouncy ball. By now we were all starving there was a Maggiano’s but we both felt underdressed so we picked Bar 31 an Irish pub.

In the pub we both grabbed a bud and our first appetiser of the holiday some Nacho’s turned out to be crisps which was a bit odd but they were soon demolished as we were all so hungry. While we were still eating them they brought our mains out which wasn’t ideal. I had fried chicken, mash and gravy, Dh a steak sandwich and Roo a bbq chicken flatbread. Food was okay nothing special and not really worth the $80 bill. It was now almost 9pm. We drove the 10 minutes back to the hotel and had showers before watching some TV in bed and having an early night as we needed to be up at 7am.

This morning we had decided to go to Keke’s for breakfast we headed off at 9.15 to the one by Dr Phillips we had a 10.45 till 11.45 fastpass so thought we’d have plenty of time.

One of the others took a wrong turning so they didn’t arrive till gone 9.40 most of us had the eggs benedict, Riley shared the Florida pancakes with one of the other kids. Well it was huge as you can see from the picture they only managed half a pancake each and the fruit. My eggs benedict was lovely with perfectly cooked eggs however DH had over cooked eggs and they immediately offered to redo it.

We left there around 10.45 so I was desperately trying to move our fastpass for toy story mania but there was nothing available. It was a fairly short drive and we were quickly on a tram to the park we walked in at 11.35 so we walked over and was on without 5 minutes. I’d forgotten how good it was I came a close 2nd with 138000.

We had a walk round toy story land the queue was at 75minutes for slinky but it was a really hot day again and we all decided we didn’t want to wait in it. The theming is excellent and I can’t wait to go back when it’s all a br quieter. Riley would have loved to meet Woody and Jesse but again the queue was huge and in full sun.

Rock n rolla was next for me and the others, DH took Roo to meet Groot.

Riley loved his groot meeting and came back with a groot that sits on his shoulder. How did I forget that Rock n Rolla goes upside down! We all loved it some of us went straight to our tower of terror fastpass then. It’s 15years since I last went on and we all loved it. I got straight on the app and booked us into the next showing of Frozen as a fastpass we all grabbed an ice cream and went in and watched. The men all moaning about it.

We all enjoyed frozen one of the dads managed to sleep for the whole show how with all the noise is beyond me the snow at the end the kids loved. While we were sat in there I booked us all a star tours fastpass for when we came out. Star tours made me feel a bit motion sick, when we came off we were all hot and hungry and decided to head out the park to Wendy’s as it was already 4pm.

The first Wendy’s of the holiday went down well with us all and we headed back to the pool at the Avanti to cool off. It had been a scorching hot day with glorious sunshine all day

The original intention was to have a longhorns tonight but because we had eaten Wendy’s so late we weren’t really hungry we headed down to Millers around 7.30. Most of us had salads they were lovely and it’s nice not to have something too heavy. We shared a few mojito jugs while we were there and then the kids wanted to go to the souvenir shop by the Avanti.

We walked back and they brought some tat in there and we all decided one more drink in Bar Louis before bed, I had the s’mores martini it was lovely. We hit the sack around 11.30.

Tomorrow we have Animal Kingdom and our flights of passage fastpass so I think we will regret the late night when we are dragging the kids out of bed. DH, Roo and I are then driving to Tampa for a one night stay as Wednesday we are off to One Buc Place to watch the Buc’s training.

We all slept well again I woke around 8am and lay dibbing. The others messaged around 9 to say they were going to head down for breakfast as there was a free continental breakfast at Pier House 60. Breakfast was okay we all had coffee juice cereal and bagel or toast.

We packed up our things and checked out it was now around 10.30 and we needed to be at the sea screamer for 11.30 so we just went for a walk along the sea front and popped into the surf play shop. For a beach front shop it was reasonably priced and had everything including food and drink. The kids played on the beach for a little while and at 11.30 we headed for the screamer.

There was already a small queue of people so we paid and got our boarding passes $66 for the 3 of us for a 1 hour trip. The captain came over just before 12 and as he was talking to us a massive clap of thunder and lightening went off behind us he went back in to check his radar he said it was moving quickly so we would go out but he was going to delay for 15 minutes while it moved.

We eventually got on the boat around 12.15 and we went for seats around the back it was raining as we drove out but you could see there was clear blue sky ahead so the captain said we would head straight out onto the Gulf of Mexico to the clear skies.

We then started our search for dolphins this was a good 40 minutes when the captain spotted some jet skiers had stopped in a group so we headed over and there were 2 dolphins playing.

We watched and got photos and then the captain said he would see if they wanted to play and started driving slowly off the kids all raced to the back of the boat and we got a great little show from them jumping in and out of the water. We’ve got some amazing videos of it and we were all blown away.

We were soon heading back the sky had totally cleared now and it was getting really hot even with the breeze of the boat moving it was hot. We got back in at 1.30pm so we were out a good hour and we had all really enjoyed it.

We walked down to Crabby’a beach walk bar for lunch and it was lovely I had a Po Boy sandwich DH had the chicken Cesar salad, we all decided to head back to idrive then rather than go on the beach as it was almost 3pm.

An easy drive back I was falling asleep it is a long boring road the I4 it took about 1hr40 and we stopped for fuel close to the Avanti when Riley picked up a frozen sprite only in American can you get a drink this size for 79c

The other adults wanted to go shopping so we said we’d take all the kids to the pool. It was 5pm and still hot.

However by 6pm the clouds started rolling in and at 7pm we were all kicked out the pool. We sat with the kids who were getting hungry so I said I’d walk over to cici’s and grab some pizzas. They do a family meal deal 2 large pizza’s some cheese bread for $16.99 I ordered that and some boneless wings. Then she said it will be around 20 minutes so I text DH to say I’d be a while.

I stood talking to an English lady who had been to discovery cove for the day and time went quickly then I realise it’s pushing 30 minutes and I’m still waiting so I chase it up at 40minutes Riley comes running in, turns out my text hadn’t worked and they were all worried about me so had come looking for me!

Pizza finally ready we walked back to the pool bar and sat eating and chatting. The other parents came back and eventually the pool was reopened so the kids got in and we all talked and drank. I had brought a couple of cans of Smirnoff smash it’s fruity but quite strong and then the girls opened the Bottega pink prosecco.

The others had been to the outlet and while some were picking sun glasses in the hut the lady offered to service one of the lad’s Rayban’s he had brought from there 2 years ago as she tightened a screw she had cracked his lens! They immediately offered him $190 credit off a new pair so they’d spent most of their time choosing glasses.

By 10pm we were all ready for bed tomorrow we have Hollywood studios and are hoping slinky has less than a 1 hour queue as we don’t have a fp!

Today started with a quick breakfast at the Avanti and by 9.30am all 9 of us were on the way to Clearwater it was an easy journey and as you can see a beautiful blue sky was in front of us.

We arrived at Pier House 60 around 11.30 and parked in the covered garage our room was ready we had an ocean view on the front the others had paid for a balcony so had harbour view. As we were checking in there was another English family who was told there 3rd child wouldn’t have a bed it was either sharing with the other 2 or sleeping on the floor which was poor given they had booked a room for 5. The hotel room was large and location was excellent.

We all soon headed for the beach and paid for 2 beds and an umbrella $30 the sun was brutal just lying there the sweat was dripping off us. We just chilled all day the kids were in the seal and building a sandcastle the boys went and fetched us beer and water for the cooler. We stayed until the sunbeds were due to close at 5pm. The boys headed back and the ladies walked the kids to the inflatables by the pier. 2 slides for $5 they were all happy and we headed black to shower and change.

Once we were ready we headed up to the roof top bar it was lovely up there and we soon got a couple of drinks in.

We all decided to head down to the pier around 7pm to watch the sunset it was beautiful we walked to the end of the pier and watched the sun disappear then on the way back we saw a dolphin playing which was really special. It was now gone 8pm and we were all starving, the issue now was everyone had the same idea watch the sunset then get dinner so we just walked around and found the first place without a queue which was called cooters.

Cooters soon had us seated I went for the seafood platter, dh had the ribs. Ribs were really good and my seafood platter was okay the seafood clearly wasn’t that fresh though the shrimp was tasteless and when one of the others spoke to the waitress about it she made a joke about it coming from Taiwan. The did comp one shrimp and then rather naughtily when they brought the bill out it included tip which was fine except they had circled the amount due so it wasn’t clear the tip was already included.

Overall the food was okay but I think we were all hoping for better seafood being at the coast. It was now almost 10pm so we slow walked back grabbing the children an ice cream on the way before hitting the sack. We were all hoping for one more drink but the hotel bar doesn’t allow children after 10pm.

The plan tomorrow is more beach and the sea screamer before heading back to idrive.
