From 8th January - 3rd March 2015 - Citricos are offering guests a 'Disney Princess' experience, whilst Cinderella's Royal Table is closed for refurbishment. Open from 8am until 2.20 each day for breakfast and brunch.
Citricos restaurant is located on the second floor of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. It offers Mediterranean-Inspired Cuisine and is open to guests for dinner service from 5.30pm to 10pm daily. The servers are extremely polite and helpful.
The restaurant provides a unique dining experience, as you are personally greeted by the Chef's who are happy to make recommendations and chat with you, ensuring you are happy with the food that has been served.
The main dining room is airy and decorated with hues of yellow and orange. Old-world furnishings, wrought-iron railings and mosaic-tile floors contribute to the warm Mediterranean décor.
Citricos chefs rotate dinner selections frequently for a focused menu of American dishes inspired by the cuisine of Provençe, Tuscany and the Spanish Riviera—such as Filet of Beef seared on an oak-filled grill, Madeira-braised Short Ribs, Pan-Seared Scallops or Florida Black Grouper. The food here is of a very high standard and is beautifully presented.
To begin you are served with the most beautiful warm bread that has been freshly made in the Grand Floridian Bakery. Then as a special treat from the Chef, you are given an Amuse-Bouche of Crispy Pork Belly with Mango Slaw.
The Crispy Fried Yellow Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella appetiser was delicious. The chef explained it was their take on 'Fried Green Tomatoes', but used locally grown yellow tomatoes instead. it was really nice to have something a little different to the norm.
The Oak-Grilled Fillet was just fabulous, it was cooked to perfection and very tasty having a slight smokiness from the grill. The Vidalia Gratin potatoes were a perfect accompaniment to this dish, as they were lovely and creamy. The portion sizes are good to as they are not too large.
Decadent desserts offer Lemon-scented Cheesecake, Seasonal Berry Gratin, Tropical Fruit Creme Brûlée or Tiramisu.
Sommeliers at Citricos restaurant assist in selecting wines from their award-winning international wine list. Wines are available by the glass or bottle for Guests 21 years of age or older.
Windows near select tables in Citricos provide a phenomenal view of the courtyard. Other tables allow you to peer into the bustling show kitchen.
As this is a Signature Dining Experience guests are asked to adhere to the Dress Code.
