Disney’s Bay Lake Tower is a DVC resort adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort that opened in August 2009. Like the Contemporary Resort, the décor is very modern and stylish.

There is now a dedicated check in desk in the lobby of Bay Lake Tower. Previously, guests had to check in at the Contemporary Resort.

There is an exterior observation deck on the 16th floor with views over Magic Kingdom, making a great place to watch Wishes from. Currently, any DVC guest staying at any Disney resort using points and their guests can gain access to this viewing area. There are selected blackout dates and this is subject to change. There is a bar which serves appetizers called the Top of the World Lounge, also located on the 16th floor.

The best thing about this hotel is the location to Magic Kingdom. It is a short 5-7 minute brisk walk, or 10 minute stroll, so no need to worry about early buses to make Rope Drop or fighting the crowds at the bus stop at park closing.

A short stroll to the Contemporary Resort and you can catch the monorail to the other resorts or the Ticket and Transportation Centre to transfer to the Epcot monorail. Regular buses provide transport to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney and Epcot. There is also the boat to the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

The accommodation is all located in one building which is joined to the Contemporary Resort via an outside walkway. Unusually, the walkway goes from the 4th floor in the Contemporary Resort to the 5th floor in Bay Lake Tower.

California Grill

Dine at one of Disney's Best Award-Winning Signature Restaurants, which following extensive renovation has recently re-opened, with fabulous reviews.The Restaurant is a perfect meld of modern contemporary, with a touch of classic elegance to it. The Dining Room offers 360 degree panoramic views, overlooking the Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom, the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Be prepared as music is piped in as the lights dim in the evening, allowing you to see the most spectacularly enviable views of the 'Wishes Firework Display'. The centre stage of the Dining Room focuses on the Show Kitchen, where you can watch Dishes being freshly prepared by the Chef's and their Teams. The 'New Menu' created by Chef Brain Piasecki, is changed seasonally to provide dishes that are made with only the freshest of ingredients.

The Wave

The Wave is located just off the lobby area of Disney's Contemporary Resort. The restaurant consistently provides great food for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Enjoy the contemporary elegance of this new restaurant, even though the restaurant is large, the gold colours of the walls give a cosy warm feel to it. There is plenty of space between the tables which allows a level of intimacy, they also have booths which are suitable for larger groups of up to 6 people.

The restaurant focuses on serving American Flavors sourced from fresh ingredients that are organic, locally grown and sustainable. The menu changes frequently depending on the produce that is available seasonally. Even though this is not a 'Signature' Restaurant it certainly feels like it is, the food is superb and is presented beautifully.

Chef Mickey's Buffet

Chef Mickey's Buffet is located on the 4th floor concourse of Disney's Contemporary Resort, the restaurant is open for a character dining experience and offers magnificent views of the Bay Lake. Breakfast is served from 7am to11.30am and Dinner is from 5pm until 9.30pm. Occasionally during busy spells it is also open for lunch.

This is one of the most popular location's for 'Character Dining' and gives the opportunity for guests to enjoy an action packed, high energy breakfast and dinner service along with their favourite 'Fab Five' Disney Characters. Sing along, dance and wave your napkins with Chef's Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy! Be uber-cool and arrive in style on the monorail that actually enters the hotel.

Cove Bar

Cove Bar is located in the pool area at Bay Lake Tower next to Disney's Contemporary Resort. It is open daily from 11am to 7pm. Bar style seating and picnic tables are provided in the area by the pool.

The pool bar is a full bar service and offers tempting speciality cocktails and a small selection of snacks.

Sand Bar

The Sand Bar is located next to the pool and marina at the rear of Disney's Contemporary Resort Lobby. This poolside counter has great nautical theming and offers seating by the bar itself or outside by the marina and pool area.

It offers a bar service with alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. Have yourself a picnic with the range of snacks available, choose from caesar salad, sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers.

Relax in the sun whilst watching the sporting activities on Bay Lake, you never know, you might even fancy a go yourself!

Outer Rim

Outer Rim is located at the Grand Canyon Concourse on the 4th Floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. It is open from 4.30pm to 10.30pm daily.

The lounge offers adults a full serve bar offering a range of speciality drinks and light snacks. This is a great place to take a little time out from the hustle and bustle of the parks or for a relaxing evening drink.

Recreation
There is a zero entry pool, the Cove pool, which has a themed slide, a nearby hot tub and children’s water play area. There is a drinks station here for use with your refillable mugs.

Why not indulge in some luxury by hiring a private cabana at Bay Cove Pool—just steps from the water and the lake beach.

For those who like Water Sport's then there are many activities that you can take part in, there's Tubing, Waterskiing, Parasailing or simply hire a boat and cruise around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.

Jog or walk around the 1 mile path that loops around Bay Lake Tower and the South Garden Wing.
