Get back to nature at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort—one of the original accommodations at Walt Disney World Resort. Delighting Guests since 1971, this Resort features fully-equipped campsites that let you relax, unwind and camp out in comfort. Here, a Disney vacation meets one of America's favorite pastimes—camping in the great outdoors.

Nestled on 750 wooded acres of lush pine and cypress trees and surrounded by quiet trails and gentle wildlife, like deer and rabbits, you'll feel as though you're far away from the bustle of modern civilization—even though you're right in the middle of the magic at Walt Disney World Resort!

The only camping and RV accommodation within Walt Disney World Resort, the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are located near Magic Kingdom theme park.

It is a smoke-free Resort; smoking is permitted at campsites, on cabin porches and in the designated outdoor smoking locations.

Campsite Accommodation

Choose from 4 different types of campsites, including new Premium Campsites, that can accommodate everything from tents to 45-foot and longer vehicles, with a maximum 10 Guests per site.

Tent or Pop-Up Campsite - sleeps up to 10. This Resort has 90 sites of this type.

Full Hook-Up Campsite - sleeps up to 10. An RV with awning parked on a cement pad. This Resort has 156 sites of this type.

Preferred Campsite - sleeps up to 10. Campsite with a concrete parking pad and sewer hook-up for an RV, plus a gravel area with a tent. This Resort has 123 sites of this type.

Premium Campsite - sleeps up to 10. Campsite with an RV parked on its concrete pad that includes a charcoal barbecue grill and picnic table. This Resort has 430 sites of this type.

Facilities vary, but each campsite is equipped with: -
  • Privacy-enhancing landscaping
  • Water, cable television hook-ups and electrical hook-ups
  • Premium picnic table and charcoal grill
  • Sewer hook-up (at most campsites)
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi


Trail's End Restaurant

Trail's End Restaurant is located next to the Pioneer Hall and is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Due to vehicle restrictions within this resort you will need to use either the boat or take the internal bus to reach this destination.

Enjoy the casual coziness of this rustic log-cabin style restaurant, that makes you feel like you are in the middle of the wilderness.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Mickey's Backyard BBQ is located in the Outdoor Pavillion. This popular Dinner Show is available on Thursday's and Saturday's commencing at 6.30pm to 8pm. As the show is held in a covered open-air pavillion, the weather conditions mean that it can only operate seasonally from March to December.

Guests should arrive 40 minutes before the show commences. For those travelling by car, more time should be allocated as there is restricted vehicle access at this resort.

The show itself is a Disney Character foot stomping dance party, with an 'all-you-can-eat BBQ Buffet'. Join in with the 'hoe-down' and try out your line dancing moves with Minnie, Mickey and Friends, dancing along to the live Country and Western Band. Sit back and watch the amazing cowboy rope tricks.

Kids are free to run around and can have endless fun running off a bit of steam in the open air, mingling with their favourite Disney Characters.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue

The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is performed in Pioneer Hall.

This is a two hour show performed daily at 4pm, 6.15pm and 8.30pm. You should arrive 40 mins prior to the start of the show, for those who are driving allow extra time as vehicle access is restricted in this resort.

Prepare to be entertained at one of the longest running Walt Disney World Western themed dinner shows. Comedians, Dancers and Country western Singers will soon have you twirling your napkins, thigh slapping, foot stomping, hand clapping and singing along. This is good old-fashioned raucous slapstick entertainment, a bit corny but lots of fun. Along with the entertainment you will partake in an all you can eat dinner.

Meadow Snack Bar

The Meadow Snack Bar is located in the Meadow Pool Complex.

The pool snack bar is open seasonally and offers a range of snacks and drinks, but has a limited bar service. When the bar is closed guests can obtain snacks from the Meadow Trading Post.

The bar has a more rustic watering hole theme about it and is an ideal place to stop off for a refreshment or two! There is plenty of seating available, with picnic tables that are shaded by umbrellas.



Meadow Swimmin’ Pool - feature pool with a 67-foot-long corkscrew waterside and a whirlpool spa for the adults.
Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool - a more tranquil pool for all-ages and also has a whirlpool spa.

Water Activities

Spend time on Bay Lake either by hiring a Canoe, Kayak or Motorised Boat. For the active there's Waterskiing or spend some leisurely time Fishing.

Tri-Circle-D Ranch

For those who love horses then you can enjoy some of the activities here. You can go Horse Riding, go on an Old-fashioned Wagon Ride or take a Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride and explore the scenic Campsite grounds.

Escape to Walt's Wilderness

A new 5 hour off-the-beaten-track tour, which takes guests on a journey through the wilderness with a taste of some of the resorts activities. The day begins with a boat ride where you will do a bit of wildlife spotting, followed by a hearty campfire breakfast by the bonfire. A wagon-ride transports you to an archery lesson, then after a hike through the woods you will end with a visit to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, where you will learn how the horses are cared for. The experience is offered every Wednesday and Thursday and is available for ages 7 and over, costing $109 plus tax.

Join in with a game of Basketball or Volleyball, or travel the lush pathways of the Resort by bike or on foot, taking a leisurely stroll or jog.

At the end of the day have a Camp fire Sing-along with Chip 'n' Dale, followed by a Movie under the Stars.

Activities for Children

Young campers enjoy variety of ways to play. Kid-friendly amenities include:
  • The pool area at Meadow Swimmin' Hole, which features a wet play area for little ones, a slide and a whirlpool spa
  • Planned pool activities for children (ask a Cast Member for details)
  • Outdoor activity areas where kids can climb, slide and play
  • 2 different arcades featuring video and pinball games
