Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour highlights the fascinating history of Walt Disney World Resort and provides backstage access to secret areas of Magic Kingdom theme park.
Guests must be at least 16 years of age.
This five hour walking tour explores the stories behind the remarkable creation and growth of Magic Kingdom theme park. Hear the intriguing story of Walt Disney and learn how his innovative ideas, revolutionary visions, creative philosophies and amazing accomplishments brought the Theme Park to life. The journey includes stops at backstage facilities and a variety of favorite attractions.
One unforgettable highlight is a trip below Magic Kingdom theme park into the service tunnels known as the Utilidors. This is one urban legend that is absolutely, and almost unbelievably, true—the Guest accessible areas of Magic Kingdom theme park are actually on the second floor of a massive structure. The first floor—called the Utilidors—allows Cast Members, deliveries and even trash to be unknowingly transported below Guests' feet as they wait in line for their favorite attraction.
Lunch is included in the tour (this used to be Columbia Harbour House but now Disney do not specify a specific restaurant in advance - other restaurants are now used such as the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant).
Guests are required to check-in at the chamber of Commerce building adjacent to City Hall 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour.
If you would like an even more in-depth look at the backstage areas of Walt Disney World Resort, consider the 7-hour Backstage Magic tour.
Magic Kingdom theme park admission is required and is not included in the price of the tour. Please keep in mind that Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is an outdoor walking tour, so be sure to check the weather report and dress appropriately.

Today's agenda was a rest day for Julie and the two younger girls as Kimberley and I had a reservation for the 8.30am KTTK tour which we were both looking forward to
Kimberley & I head for the Magic Kingdom and arrive at 8.05am, the park is pretty busy already since it's an EMH morning, we head over to city hall and check in for our tour.
On waiting for the tour we find a spot out of the sun next to some doors beside the train station access ramps, with the park opening just finished it wasn't long before various characters passed us on the way backstage.
Anyway with the time approaching 8.20am and all the guests checked in we meet our CM guide for the tour "Claire". All I can say about Claire is she was very passionate about Walt and his family.
The tour kicks off and I will keep this brief as not to spoil the magic for others, our tour consisted of a walk down Main Street with a talk about the Disney Brothers and their struggles.
Next we rode the Jungle Cruise before heading towards the Splash Mountain gate and went back stage to see some of inner workings of the park.
Basically we saw some interesting and amazing stuff especially the Electrical Parade floats as they were in the process of getting tested.
After the first back stage part we were met by Woody and Jessie before we headed back into the public part. We continued up towards the Columbia Harbour House where we had lunch at 11.30am.
Prior to starting the tour we had to choose from a limited menu for our lunch which was sitting waiting for us along with our KTTK pins.
During lunch we sat next to lovely elderly couple from San Francisco and had various topics of conversation which were interesting in their own right.
After lunch we were told some secrets about the Haunted Mansion and rode the attraction swiftly afterwards.
Our tour continued past Cinderella's castle and headed back to Main Street before we enter the Utilidor Complex under the park and shown some interesting inner workings from security to maintenance to costuming.
After the Utilidor visit we head back towards City Hall where our tour was completed at around 1.30pm.
All I can say is this tour is a must and only adds to the magic.
You get a gold key shaped pin to keep and is not avalible to buy.
IMHO it is well worth the money for the experience and especially the back stage areas.
On my latest tour we went on Jungle cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted mansion. You get to go backstage behind Splash mountain and see the parade float storage building, splash and the boneyard! You also get to see the famous Utilidors! The other great thing with the tour is that you don't know what and who you are going to see backstage and also the other guests who are on the tour with you.
Lunch is included at the Columbia Harbour house.
The thing I would advise you to do is to go for the 8:30 tour beacuse you get to go into Magic Kingdom before the park opens and get some great pictures of a deserted Main Street
