Disney's MyMagic+

Disney has embraced technology to enhance a guests experience at their theme parks and resorts. Disney's MyMagic+ gives you control of your vacation and makes it easier than ever to enjoy time with your family and friends.

MyMagic+ has 3 main components:

• My Disney Experience website and smartphone app
• Disney Genie Service
• MagicBand RFID bracelet

My Disney Experience website and APP

You can start the fun before you even begin your Walt Disney World vacation by visiting MyDisneyExperience.com or downloading the MyDisneyExperience APP. This website and app acts as your centralised planning tool and you can continue to access it in the parks from your mobile device via the website or app (all four parks have free wi-fi).

MyDisneyExperience gives you access to park and resort information such as park maps, attraction information including wait times, you can use it to make your dining reservations and much more.

Genie+

Genie+ is a new paid service that replaces FastPass+ where you can make a reservation for certain attractions at the theme parks starting at 7am on the date of your visit. Using the Lightning Lanes entrance significantly reduces your time waiting in line.

MagicBands

The MagicBand replaces traditional tickets with a wrist band. The MagicBand combines all tickets, allowing room entry, park entry, Genie+ attraction entry, Memory Maker photo service, and room charging.

MyMagic+ Summary

• MagicBands can be set up prior to visiting, linked to the a Disney account
• MagicBands are used as room keys, park tickets, Genie+ access, and at touch-to-pay locations for shopping and dining
• MagicBands offer turnstile-free access to the parks with a quick tap for entrance
• Guests may choose or limit the amount of information shared when registering MagicBands online
• Using information on the MagicBands, characters will “magically” know guests’ names before meeting them, also being able to note registered celebrations, such as birthdays or anniversaries
• Rides and queues can use MagicBands for a personalized experience
• Disney sells MagicBand accessories to collect and make each wristband unique

If lost, guests can have their MagicBands deactivated by Cast Members or by going online and Disney claims no personal information can be retrieved from a lost or stolen wristband. Also, purchases totaling over $50 will require a PIN to support tap-to-pay.
