The Flying Fish Cafe is located on the Boardwalk next to Kouzzina at Disney's Boardwalk Resort and offers a Signature Dining Experience to guests.
It has been themed to reflect an Atlantic Boardwalk and has been decorated with funhouse mirrors, parachuting fish and even a backlit Ferris Wheel. The restaurant is a large open space which creates a boisterous and lively atmosphere, this is something to bear in mind if you were planning on having a quiet intimate dinner!
The restaurant specialises in freshly caught mouthwatering seafood such as Red Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna, Maine Diver Scallops, Faroe Islands Salmon, Royal Red Shrimp, Calamari and delicious Chardonnay-steamed Green Isle Mussels. The menu also caters for 'non-seafood eaters' and offers Char-crusted New York Strip or a Trio of pork and for vegetarians there is the Californian Asparagus and Mushroom Riccia Pasta di Abruzzo as well as Artisanal Soups and Salads.
The Roasted Heirloom Beets with fresh Vermont Goat's Cheese is a fabulous appetiser, the goat's cheese is soft, creamy and full of flavour, the spiced pecans also add a nice flavour and texture to the dish.
The 'Duo' is a great way to sample both fish and meat, with the "Char-crusted Angus New York Strip Steak" and a delicately moist "Potato-wrapped Red Snapper".
For those with a sweet tooth be tempted by the Caramelised Banana Napoleon, Nuts about Chocolate Indulgence or the Blueberry and Lemon scented Creme Brūlée, to name a few!
The children's menu offers more than the standard choice with Grilled Meat or Chicken Skewers, Baked Florida Coast Fish Sticks or a bowl of Mickey Pasta with desserts comprising Mickey's Chocolate Puzzle or Sorcerer Mickey's Milk Chocolate Cauldron.
The Chef's Tasting Wine Dinner
This experience offers guests a 5 course prix fixe menu with wine pairings. Services are available from Sunday through to Thursday and are at either 5.45pm or 8.15pm. Groups of up to 6 people are seated in front of the on-stage kitchen allowing you to watch the chef's freshly prepare your meal. As the ingredients used are freshly sourced the menu does change daily.
