Myakka State Park
Myakka is one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks it has 53 square miles of wetlands, prairies and woodlands. You can take a one hour Airboat ride on the upper Myakka lake where you will see Alligators and birds feeding on the water edge. You can also do Gator watching at the bridge to the lake and river or take a leisurely one hour nature history Tram tour.
You will find many picnic areas with tables and grills at different locations around the park.
Fishing is available at South picnic area bridge (A license is required) and here you can also find playgrounds.
A one hour Airboat ride on the upper Myakka lake is only $12
children under 12 years of age dollars is $6 dollars

If you're feeling a little bit more energetic and adventurous, you can rent a canoe kayak, take a 7 mile bike ride along the paved road there are more dirt roads available within the park to cycling.
There is 39 miles of hiking trails, through flat woods, hammocks and wetlands
The canopy walk is highly recommended, allowing you walk through the treetops
and then you climb 74ft Tower, that gives you the most spectacular and magnificent views across Florida's unspoiled natural countryside..don't forget to take your camera!
