Disabled at the Water parks?
HI we are off to the mouse next year. With Me will be DW our DD the 3 GK's (15,5,2.5) and our DS (36 mentally and physically disabled.) We have never used the Disney water parks but obviously with the GK's next year we would like to. Can anyone help me with info on how easy it is for a disabled person (wheelchair bound) in the water parks. I have checked the various websites which say it's all accessible - it has to be under ADA laws but that doesn't mean that it's suitable:angry: . Any info will be gratefully received. If it's not worth taking him there we will drop the DD etc off and do some retail therapy before we pick them up again.

Our DS is a wheelchair user and we've enjoyed the water parks without any problems. The lazy river had one entrance/exit which is wheelchair accessible and all the paths are fine with a wheelchair, so there's no problem getting around. The only difficulty is on the sand, but I think you can hire a beach wheelchair to get over that.
At BB you can take a wheelchair in the chair lift to the top of the mountain. CMs will bring it back down to the end of the slide for you. There are accessible toilets, showers and changing facilities. |

Thanx Guys the changing facilities were my major worry. Our son needs help with everything so we need a sizeable changing room to get him sorted.

Now I never knew about he lifts to the larger water rides. DD has arthritis so although she can walk the amount she can manage is limited. Do you think if we show them her GAC they will let her ride the lift?
