Anybody live in/near Hounslow?

My DB is getting married on 11th August and we have a hotel booked in Hounslow. We are coming from Sheffield and want to know if we are best travelling into central London and then to the hotel or via Heathrow. I also need to know roughly how long this will take us.
I know it sounds awful but my DB sprung this wedding on us about 8 weeks ago and we really cant afford it the month we have to pay for everything for the holiday as well. DD is a bridesmaid but I have told them that we cant possibly go down until the day of the wedding although we will have to stay over that night.
Can anybody help?

Edited to say... we are travelling by either coach (cheapest but does mean a really early start) or train (still early but not quite as bad)

Personally if you can get a coach to Heathrow, then catch the tube out to Hounslow it would be the best. Does however depend on where your hotel is. I used to live in Feltham, which isn't too far away.
