Universal Annual Power Pass Question

I know the pass has some black out dates, but does anyone know if they are valid for a year from when you buy them or when you activate them?

Have looked on the universal site, but I'm still no clearer and can't see an email address for contacting them

I asked this and was told, it's a year from the time you activate it, same as Disney Annual Pass.

Blackout dates:
Christmas December 24, 2002 - January 1, 2003
Easter/Spring Break April 13-26, 2003
Summer Weekends June 28 & 29, 2003
July 4, 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, & 27, 2003
August 2, 3, 9, & 10, 2003

Christmas December 24, 2003 - January 1, 2004

Self-Parking not included
NO Discounts on food, merchandise or on-site hotels
Not valid for hard ticket events
When you buy your non-transferable pass online, you'll receive a voucher which can be presented at the Voucher Window prior to 11am (or any ticket window after 11am) at the front gate of either theme park. Once inside the park, proceed to the Vacation Services Center at any time to have your photo taken and receive your pass.

For pass renewals, please call 1-800-564-5764. Pass upgrades must be completed inside the park at the Vacation Services Center.
