Great Movie Ride
Hi,
A while back there were rumors that the Great Movie Ride was going to be replaced, well it seems that this ride is going to stay. At the moment it is scheduled to have a major rehab sometime in 2004

I thought it was having a major re-hab at the moment ? I read on the Debs site that it was originally out of action until April and this has just been extended until the end of June - which we were gutted to hear as it's one of our fav's. Now you've just plain confused me

Sorry for the confusion Sam,
Yes the GMR is currently closed until June 29, 2003 to update finale film & replace Fantasia scene. but these are only general changes. There was talk of changing it completely when the Hat went up in front of the theatre. There were rumors that the whole thing was going to be shelved, even with the current rehab. But the latest news is they are looking at an extensive rehab during 2004, which involves the ride system aswell as the movies and scenes.

Oh my I'm glad they are deciding to keep it - it's one of the best rides - I hope the changes they do in 2004 will add value rather than take away all that makes this ride so "Great"

Great news...
I do always like to wander into the ride to take in the ambience of Hollywood and to relive the films... Especially being aboard the Nostromo with Lt Ripley ... Greg

I'm delighted that GMR is staying. When we went in late 2001 the rumours were rife that it was about to close, I adore this ride..a real oasis of calm in the park.
