Battery problem

I've just got myself a little Canon Powershot A430 and love it! So much so, I've worn the batteries down already (only got it yesterday). But when I changed the batteries, it told me to change them! I've done this several times but it keeps insisting that I change them. The camera works fine when viewing pics but not when I try to take a pic, it wants the batteries changing. Am I doing something wrong?

S'ok, sorted it. They need to be alkaline batteries or rechargeable ones.

I had the same problem with my camera, normal batterys didn't last a day i use fujifilm rechargeable ones now.

I'm going to invest in some rechargeable batteries. I'm hoping I'll have enough things to photograph on holiday.

Great shots :-)) regarding batteries DO buy rechargables and approx 3 sets, why always have a set on charge, a set in camera of course :-)) and a charged set in camera bag.
