Photoshop Pro 8 -v- Photoshop Elements 5.0

Hi,
I am wondering if anybody can help me please. What are the differences between these:- Photoshop 8 and Photoshop elements 5? I have Photoshop 8 but don't know if getting Elements 5 will be any better.
Thank you.
Neil

Elements is geared to photo enhancement and manipulation, whereas Photoshop as a whole package is for graphic designers. Most of the features are quite specialised and its unlikely, as a home user looking to improve pictures, that you would need to use half of them!

Saying that if you already have PS8 then there is probably not much point buying Elements now! If you had neither, then Id say pick Elements, mainly because its a fraction of the price and will have pretty much everything you need!

I would agree with Rusty - Elements should be plenty for most users, but i can't see the point in moving back to a 'lesser' product.

Thank you. I thought that maybe, Elements, with it been a newer software might have a few more bits n bobs to it.
