Electric Buggy - Procedure at Parks?
I'm sure somebody can help me?
Basically my FIL is coming with us this year and at 76 he is quite fit, he has recently had spinal surgery and a hip replacement and can only walk short distances before it's too painfull. Anyway, we've hired an electric mobility scooter from Randy's for the 2 weeks we are there but really need to know the procedures for the parks? He doesn't have a UK Disabled Badge ( another story but he did have one and they would not renew it ! 1 in 3 in Bolton are fraudulent and a true case gets theirs taken away! ) so cannot apply for the US equivalent. So what happens now? Do we just park in the normal car parking and take the electric buggy on the monorails / busses etc? Or can we still park with the other diasabled visitors even without a badge? Don't want to be stuck miles from the park and no way to get the buggy onto the transport? Thanks in advance |

You can ask if you can get a place in the disabled parking at the parks when you go through the entrance. I'm sure they must have some procedure for cases like this. You won't be able to take the scooter on the trams so a place in the regular lot would be no good unless you are close enough to walk to the park entrance. Also you will need space around the car to get the scooter in and out.
If a space in the disabled lot is not an option there are drop off and pick up areas at each park. Seaworld give out their own disabled parking permits, the other parks may have something similar. I would email them and see what they suggest. It sounds like he really should have a blue badge, can he not re-apply? |
