Overcoming Obstacles - Pre Trippie.
I don't have a trippie name yet but I'm hoping to find inspiration whilst there..these are my ramblings before my trip just to familiarise you with our situation
The Cast Shareen (25) - Chief Planner and Chief Worrier. Thought this trip wouldn't happen! David (29) - So laid back he's horizontal...always kept the faith even when this trip looked like it wouldn't happen So where do I begin? Well the beginning would be a good idea me thinks! This holiday (which would be our second trip to Orlando) started off as a dream, small talk between myself in family members just after Christmas. We had gone to Orlando last year and had a really fantastic time it exceeded my expectations and more. My brother (who has been to Orlando around 7 times now) told me if I really wanted to go to Orlando that I should keep some money past each week and see how that went. We did exactly that we kept past around 80 quid each week and went without the weekends partying with friends or going to HMV for a big DVD shop... it was torture but we kept on trying. Come February we were truly in the swing of things, we had a good amount of money past and things were going well...we had made sacrifices but it was sure going to be worth it. We finally booked our holiday at the end of March, we found a good deal that we couldn't pass up and went ahead and booked. I was so thrilled and excited I decided to diet big time and started planning right away as always. Last year we had been quite lucky because we bought Annual Passes for Universal and Non Expiration passes for Disney on the advice of my brother...thanks bro your the best . We only had Seaworld/Busch Gardens and Frequent Fear Passes to buy...which we got eventually! Our trip was scheduled for October from 1st until 17th. Alot of my friends and work colleagues found it strange that I didn't want to go in Summer but hey I love October and the main reason we wanted to go back was for Halloween Horror Nights @ Universal Studios. Ever since I can remember I've always been a lover of the Halloween. I love the spooky feel, the wacky costumes, I'm a big fan of the horror movie genre and guess what one of my favourite all time movies is? Yup you guessed it Halloween! So you can imagine how thrilled I was when I saw that it was three of the biggest horror movie icons ever that were part of this years event! Last years event blew me away. I have high hopes for this years event but I'm also looking forward to going back to SeaWorld to see the pretty animals and we're going to try a few new restaurants aswell as some of our favourites from last year. All was going well I was dieting big time, exercising like mad..David was working all the hours under the sun. Everything seemed rosey BUT we did hit some financial problems at the end of the summer..it got so bad we were considering cancelling but my brother convinced us not too saying we would loose more than we would gain. Again we battled on and went without our usual guilty pleasures. David stopped buying PSP and PS2 games, I went without my MAC make-up and shoe shopping...it was a really hard challenge but again we were determined. Come August/September...I've lost alot of weight and I'm feeling great, October is getting nearer and nearer..UNTIL! BAM! David lost his new job... I went into major meltdown as in panic mode, I thought we would have to cancel the trip, it was tough. Luckily enough David's old job took him back in a heartbeat! I got awarded a permanent job at my work as oppose to agency work so things were looking up again! To say that the road leading to this trip has been a rollercoaster ride would be an understatement. It's like The Mummy: The Ride, The Hulk and The Kraken all rolled into one. We had many sharp turns, many uphill struggles but in the end it came full circle and here we are now as happy and excited as ever for our 2nd trip to Orlando. I won't lie though this will probably be our last trip to Orlando for a while...we'll maybe wait a few years and go back when we have kids...then again you never know. If a good deal comes along we might not be able to resist. Anyways...back to our trip our current itinerary looks like this. We're staying on I-Drive and have a few friends who are currently there at the moment staying a few hotels away, we're all going to meet up..have a blast and go to HHN. My pretty new digi cam is ready. I have a notebook and a pencil handy... so yup... I'm excited folks. I've a few little bits and pieces to see to before but yup...I'm truly now in excited holiday mode. Plus I'm 2 and 1/2 stone lighter, I can't wait to buy some pretty new clothes! I look forward to taking piccies, posting experiences and most importantly sharing them with you beautiful people! Edited at 08:25 PM. |
