2 Weeks in Thailand - Sunday 17th Feb - Phuket

We woke up this morning and had missed brekkie. We looked out of the window and were pleased to see we could see the beach. We hadn’t paid for a sea view so were pleasantly surprised.

We had a wander around the hotel, noted that there were 2 very nice pools with swim up bars and happy hours along with a handy little snack bar for lunch. In fact we decided to stay at the snack bar for some lunch as it was getting on.

We were tired so had fancied a lazy few days in Phuket although I really wanted to see the Phi Phi islands as I love the film the Beach and Dave wanted to go to the location of the James Bond film.

We therefore needed to pick up some leaflets and get those booked and just read books and relax the rest of the time.

After lunch we collected a few leaflets to read up on and went down to the beach. We followed the direction the beach appeared to be in from the view from our room, went down this little alley, straight to the end of the Beach with the Ska Bar! Lol

The sea was something else, the colour of the water and how clean the sand was! Wow.

I set up an umbrella and we read our books, occasionally going for a swim when got too hot, very lazy day and very nice.

There was something dampening my spirits today though. My exam results for the 3 ACCA exams I sat in early December were going to hit my work e-mail address tomorrow and I was soooo nervous.

I had managed to keep it out my mind mostly until we got to Phuket but once there it was bugging me hugely. I knew I had messed up one so I said that if I passed 2 I would be happy, 1 I would be upset and none I would be devastated.

I genuinely can’t tell when have done enough to pass so I had no idea, I knew it was worrying me though so I was very quiet today.

However we had seen a happy hour of buy one get one free on the cocktails at the swim up bar so decided to leave the beach and give it a go. The pool was lovely, no Chlorine and they hollowed out whole pineapples for our Mai Tais and then gave us the fruit to eat, yum.

We found a Greek restaurant for dinner which was lovely and then we went for a few drinks to try and calm my nerves at the Ska Bar.

I did sleep eventually.

What a lovely relaxing day. It's a shame you were worried about your exam results though.
