SUNDAY 3rd AUGUST

TIBETAN TERRIER FUN DAY

We all had a good night's sleep last night. Bobby ended up in bed with Dan, lol, he's making the most of this, as he sleeps on his own in the kitchen at home!

Today was the day of the Tibetan Terrier Fun Day. We were really looking forward to it, the weather forecast was for mostly dry, with the odd shower, so with cagoules packed in the car, we headed off to Bretford Village Hall near Coventry and arrived around 10.30.

and they had a marquee full of things to buy and food to eat:

Those storm clouds look scary, but thankfully moved away.

We registered Bobby for the TT Racing (I kid you not!) and then Sam took him to do some basic training in the show ring. The instructor very kindly gave everyone a bag of chopped up hotdogs for their dogs which certainly got Bobby's attention! :



It was fantastic to see so many Tibbys together, and yes, most of them are as crazy as Bobby! Especially one we met, who we found out was Bobby's half brother, they played together so cute, they were so alike in their personality, they have the same Dad, and both have his sense of fun. Next it was time for the TT Racing - Bobby didn't win, but he had a great run! This is the only shot I could get, as they ran so fast!:


Then it was the Fancy Dress Competition. Here's Bobby horseing around.


This was the winning outfit, which was really funny and deserved to win!:


Bobby had his very first go at Agility, Sam helped him along but he did really well!


Then we were really pleased that Bobby got the 'special' rosette in the Best 6 Legs competition:


He then bumped into another relative, this time a half-sister called Lexie (same Dad again), but he got a bit boisterous, I don't think he knew that you have to be gentle with the ladies!


We also met our breeder, it was so nice to see her again, here she is with Bobby:

So what was the surprise then?
Well, we were absolutely amazed that Bobby, whirlwind that he is, managed to pass his Kennel Club Bronze Award!
Sam entered it just for practice, as the class she goes to told her she wasn't ready to do the test yet, so she was ecstatic to say the least when they passed! Well Done Sam and Bobby!



We had a fantastic day at the Funday, and will definitely be going again next year. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and Bobby had a whale of a time meeting all the other TTs, especially his brother and sister.
When we got back to the boat Bobby was proudly showing off his Rosettes:


Tomorrow: visit to the Cotswolds Wildlife Park where Bobby has a fright!

Thanks Ben, it really was a great day out, we are definitely up for it next year! Sam was so shocked that they won the Bronze Award as she has just had to start the bronze course again from the beginning, as they said that Bobby wasn't ready for the test last time - what do they know eh? She is going to training tonight actually, and taking the certificate to show them!

Mazzy Harvey is very impressed with Bobby but not impressed when I told him he is going to doggie training himself. Looks like Bobby had a great time, and I hope Sam rubbed it in to her trainer about "Bobby not being ready".

Just shown DP the photos of Bobby. We (I) have decided that when we come back from Florida, after our wedding, we will be getting a new addition to the family, one that does not cause me any pain down below! But will cause DP pain in the wallet area...hehe!
