Highlander Day6 Bye Bye NYC Hello Las Vegas
For cast please see day1
Tuesday 21st October I'm up around 4:15am get the family up at 4:45am, I leave the maid her tip plus the unused restaurant.com certificates and our subway passes as they still had 3 full days left on them, at around 5 I get a call from our driver to say hes on the way and by 5:20 we are heading to JFK, we arrive at JFK around 5:45 we have to see a check in agent as the auto system wants to charge for extra bags but agent waives charge as we are on international allowance, so once checked in we breeze through security and camp out in departure lounge bit disappointed as there was no wi-fi free or otherwise, our flight isn't till 8am so we have a little over an hour to kill, myself and Danny get some sweets and books we board our plane at 7:30 and depart on time at 8am but as usual we are held in a queue and don't take off till 8:30, the flight was uneventful and we made up the time as we landed on time at 10:50. Once off the plane we headed to collect our cases, a bit of a trek and we pass many slot machines, now up until this point DW has not questioned how we are getting to the resort and she is surprised when she sees a driver with a sign and our name on it, I'm a bit gobsmacked as well as our driver is a gorgeous blond, her name is Alana and once introductions are over she waits with us for our cases to come off this takes ages about 30 mins, once outside Alana takes us to our limo which was another surprise and then she presents Jacquie with her Rose and a bottle of champers another surprise The drive to Desert Rose is pretty short, and by 11:45 we are checking in, unfortunately our room isn't ready yet so we leave our luggage in their left luggage area, although they put my laptop in the security office, after leaving my cell number we head out towards Hooters the Celtic champions league match is on at home just noe against Man Utd so we are hoping they are showing the match in Hooters, Hooters is only a 5-10min walk but we are sweating in the heat as it must be in the high 80's, once inside the Casino we head to the restaurant area, we get a table and our server gets the channel changed to the match, we are only in the restaurant 15 mins when the hotel call to say our room is ready , with the time difference it was nearer 4pm for us NYC time, we ordered a pitcher of bud, 2 cokes, burger, fries and chicken strips before tip $44, now the game for obvious reasons was crap but we had a great time watching it in a great place also at half time I had a play in the 1 cent slots and win $28 my first big Vegas win after the game we headed back to the resort but I did manage to get a free whisky and coke on way out from cocktail waitress as I had a go on the slots before leaving. Once back at the resort we got our room keys, map etc and headed for our room, we unpacked and I took some room pics We then headed out around 4pm to exchange our power pass vouchers for tickets at Planet Hollywood store at the Forum Shops, the strip is amazing, we wander in and out of casinos, stores etc on the way up to the Forum ignoring the porn slappers at every turn,we also visited the lions at MGM and we watched the fountains at the Bellagio and I must admit at this point we where very tired but as we had come this far we continued to the Forum and boy is it huge and elaborate a sight to behold, we exchanged our vouchers easily and started the trek back to the hotel, stopping at Walgreens for juice and sweets, we arrived back at the hotel around 6:30pm and the managers reception still had 30 mins left so we had some juices and a few wines before heading to our room, DW did do a laundry run as it was in our block, Danny watched TV and I called the tour companies to confirm our future trips in the next few days also booked the hoover dam tour which is included in the power pass, then it was a lazy night just chillin on the balcony which over looked Hooters Pool Some pics

Loving this trippie Steve, cant wait to read more Did you find Vegas a very adult orientated place? Its somewhere DH & I really fancy trying but wasnt sure if there was enough to entertain the kids? Will be interesting to see if turns out to be a place that you would visit again or if its a ''been there done it'' experience. Cant believe how much you managed to cram into this trip, you must have been Shattered when you got home!

Hi Sam
It is pretty adult but that being said there is plenty to do with the kids but you do feel like you are chained at times as its an adult playground, also something to be aware of are the scantily clad girls and thats just the tourists not the dancing girls although must admit my 15 yr old son only complained because we never stayed and watched the dancing girls And Jean and Pam not really that romantic as I had forgotten all about it and it was incl in the $120 round trip price
