New York, Orlando & Anna Maria Island - Day 3
New York, Orlando and Anna Maria Island October 2008.
Day 3 New York We awoke early again – we’re still on British time. So up and out for Breakfast to a lovely diner we’d seen near Central Station. Today we were going to do the Uptown bus tour. So after breakfast we walked up to Times Square – no sign of the Naked Cowboy today. We eventually found where to catch the Uptown bus and went and joined the hoards also wishing to take the tour. Today’s tour guide was Marion a 70 something ex theatrical type who was funny for the first 10 minutes and then she became ever so annoying. To say she loved the sound of her own voice would not be a lie. In all honesty the Uptown tour was not nearly as interesting as the Downtown tour and Marion didn’t help matters. The Dakota Building where John Lennon lived and was shot St Patrick's Cathedral We got off the bus at Central Park after having completed the Uptown loop. Refreshments were required so we walked along 5th Avenue and saw Trump Towers so we went in there as there was a Starbucks there (surprise, surprise!) Inside Trump Towers Then we headed back to Central Park as the kids wanted to ride in one of the horse and carriages - $34 for 20 minutes. After a couple of hours spent window shopping in 5th Avenue we decided it was time for dinner and we'd been recommended the Brooklyn Diner - wow it was the best meal we had in New York. Photos from the Brooklyn Diner Suitabley stuffed we waddled home via Starbucks of course for our night cap! |

We found the uptown loop a bit dull too. So we didnn't bother with the downtown one, maybe we should have - never mind there's always next time.
