feeling hot hot hot - Pre trip report

Planning started in October 2007 when I realised that I was on track to earn a decent bonus at work and so I decided to raise the subject of a holiday. After the usual groaning from dh we narrowed it down to a cruise on the nile ( I had to let him pick a destination even if I knew we where never going to go there ) or wdw, the one place I have wanted to go to since I was a child. I always knew that if i was going to pay then I would have the final choice so wdw won!?!? although dh could only be talked into going away for 1 week

So the research started and with the free dining plan on offer we decided on September 2008, and booked with Airtours via Going Places to stay at the caribbean beach resort. DH learnt to live with my constant disney talk, although he was never receptive to my chats first thing in the morning, and I found a new way to kill time, a fantastic website called The Dibb. I ordered some guidebooks and a passporter and started writing lists:

where do I want to eat
what parks do I want to do
What do I need to buy
what do I need to pack

you get the idea slightly obsessive compulsive

Reservations where made at the first available oppotunity for the resturants I wanted to go to, the pre holiday diet was going well (started on 1st January and was determined to not be too squashed on the plane so goal was to go from a size 28 to around a size 20, didn't quite manage it but was a size 22 ) and with months of time to spare everything is ready.

just need to dibb now and pick up all thoses useful hints and tips.

However as we all know life does not run that smoothly and about two months before the off I ended up being told I had a gallstone, which meant I had to follow a very low fat diet or be in a serious amount of pain. So a number of phone calls where made to disney who said this should not cause any problems with my reservations and that I should mention it when checking in at any resturant and they would ensure that the chef cooked me something suitable.
My travel insurance also agreed to cover me and my doctor said I was ok to go but gave me some antibiotics just in case.

So with everything back on and me now a little happier its ready for the off, wdw here I come

I'm looking forward to reading your trip report! Congratulations on the weight loss, my aim is to loose enough weight to be comfortable on the plane and rides too i've lost 2st so far!

I'm sure once you get there your dh will get excited, everyone does!
