Christmas Itinerary: First Draft
Its a long way off and no PS's have been made, so everything is subject to change in this early stage. This is trip number 8 for hubby and me. We are going for 3 weeks dep 9th Dec - 30th Dec 2004. Plan is to hit the parks hard in the first 10 days (when its quiet) and save shopping, beaches etc til Christmas week.
Our party consists of: Allie, 37, Planner Of All Things Disney Neil, 31. Financier of All Allie's Plans. Keeper of the Dollars. Sylvie, 66, Allie's mum. Along for the Wal-Mart and Baby Sitting! Jessie, 4. Disney Expert and Planners First Mate. Dan, 2. Princesses are his kind of girl. Also likes water parks and eating, preferably with ball gown clad maidens. Day 1. Depart LGW 11.15am. Arrive MCO at around 3pm. Drive to villa, drop off mum & kids. Pop to Publix for essentials, home to watch the weather channel and an early night. Day 2. Tradition says its off to the Lake Buena Vista Sizzler for an early breakfast. Tradition also suggests a visit to the Wal-Mart as our next plan. Afternoon will either be Magic Kingdom (if I purchase APs or Fun In The Sun Tickets... this is still undecided) or if we have 10 day hoppers, then probably back to the villa for a swim. Lesson learnt from last year when we had a PS for dinner at Boma on the 1st night. The kids were too jetlagged and it was a nightmare and a waste of money. No plans will be set in stone for dinner. Maybe a Chilis, TGI's or Outback. Day 3. Sat Chef Mickeys PS for breakfast. Magic Kingdom all day till kids get fed up. Haircuts for the kids at the Barber Shop. Day 4 sun Sea World or Universal Studios (to do Shrek and ride the Mummy...not sure we can justify the tickets or not yet! ).Only a short visit as kids are too young to do most of the stuff. Day 5 Mon Afternoon at Epcot. Lunch PS at Le Cellier. Stay for Illuminations. Day 6 Tues Quiet morning at Villa. Depart afternoon for MK and Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. PS for 6pm at Liberty Tree Tavern. Stay late! Day 7 Weds Sea World. Half a day. Shopping or water park in the afternoon, depending on the weather Day 8 Thurs MGM studios. Later start. Stay for Fantasmic (dinner package booked at Hollywood & Vine) Day 9 Fri Animal Kingdom. Evening PS for 'Ohana. Day 10 Sat Epcot Day 11 Sun Im expecting this to be one of the last quiet days at the parks, so will probably hit Magic Kingdom as its everyones fave. Day 12 Mon Drive over to Sarasota and the Gulf Day 13 Tues Sea World / Water Park, depending on crowd levels and weather. Day 14 Weds Busch Gardens Day 15 Thurs Free Day. Day 16 CHRISTMAS EVE I have no plans for Xmas yet (open to suggestions), but may do Mk today for some atmosphere and book a nice dinner...maybe California Grill at the Contemporary. Day 17 CHRISTMAS DAY My original thought had been MK...booking a very early PS at CRT and leaving around lunch time for a Christmas lunch at one of the resorts? Other option would be Dine With Shamu at Sea World for today. Day 18 Sun Villa Hunting! We are going to have a scout round some complexes to see whats available. If we see something we like, we may come back later in the week for a tour. Day 19 Mon Epcot, depending on crowds Day 20 Tues MGM or AK Day 21 Weds Final round up of parks (or villas!) we want to return to. Day 22 Thurs Last day. Check in at DTD and go shopping at the Florida Mall. Any comments so far? Thanks. |
