For those having an escape wedding
If you are having a meal for your reception where are you having it? We have 18 people coming with us including 3 children and we dont know where to go, I would like to wear my wedding dress so would we need a private room for this?
I have looked at the Califonia Grill so far, would we have to eat of the main menu or do we need a set menu? I'm so confused. |

Were booking a private event through our wedding planner - we needed to meet the minimums to have a dessert party and we wanted to eat in a private area.
If you eat in the California Grill, you will eat from the normal menu. I have read that your planner can make the dining reservation for you and you can get disney florist to deliver any favors, decorations etc you might want Otherwise you will need to phone group dining to make a reservation. You can wear your wedding dress at any disney restaurant - just not the ones in the parks! Hope this helps, if you want some more ideas here are one we were considering that had private rooms: The Wave (need to eat from a set menu) Raglan Road Wolfgang Pucks Cafe Fultons Crabhouse Portobello Swan and Dolphin (Bluezoo, Il Mulino, Shulas Steakhouse or you can arrange a seperate event through their private dining team) Yachtsman Steakhouse has a semi private area

We ate at California Grill and had food from the normal menu, but you can also have a private event in one of their rooms, which will then have a minimum spend on food and beverages.
As we ate in the main dining room we had to book it as a normal ADR - my planner was not able to book it for me. We only had 8 of us (2 were children) - with 18 it might be easier to go with a private dining room? |

As was looking at the GF private dining menus, does anyone know if its possible to do this? The menu was reasonably priced which is a plus.

Yes you can, it would be booked by your planner at 8 months, dftw have now set minimums though so you would need to spend $7500 (including the existing escape cost) to have a private event.
Popular rooms the grand Floridian are the key west and Whitehall room - if you google these you will get lots of photos!

From what I have read from other Disney brides booked through virgin you will be passed to a coordinator at Disney who will be able to help out, maybe ask virgin?
