Question about Tesco Double-Up and out of stock items

There is something I want to buy from Tescos before the Double-Up offer finishes but the item is out of stock in the store and online. Does anyone know if I can get a "rain-check" voucher so that I could get the item when it is in stock and still use a Double-Up voucher? I have tried telephoning the store this afternoon but there is no reply every time?

i dont know the answer to your question but i have had issues with this myself.nearly all the toys i wanted was out of stock and they were at good prices too.i emailed them and told them if they cant handle the offer they shouldnt do double up.i got a reply which was a bit blah blah!we are doing our best kind of answer.now when the offer ends most of these toys go back up to normal price.and i bet if we check on the 6th dec things will be in stock.i did use all my vouchers because i had to, i wasnt going to lose the double up.

When I was at Tescos the other day I heard the staff member tell a woman her toy was out of stock but they could order one... don't know if you can do that?

I was looking at doubling up online yesterday to get some stuff - this can take upto 48 hours for the e-voucher to come through - and it said that some items (such as toys/christmas trees/decs) could be out of stock before the codes were received. They advised customers to double up in a store with a "Direct" desk so that you could check availability and double up at the same time.

This seems to indicate that you cannot hold over the doubled up vouchers until an item is back in stock.

Just went on to get a mobile phone and had same message. AM snowed in so going to Tesco is out of question. If I order double ups and item is out of stock will my points get wasted or will they go back on to my account if I don't use them. Have I left this all too late too?

If you double up your voucers and don't use them, then you loose them . That's what they told me!

I am having major problems with my order, I double up some vouchers and they are showing on-line as being used already. The staff on the phones can see that they have not been used, and said they'd email me a cash voucher, it still hasn't arrived. Very unimpressed by Tesco at the moment

That doesn't bode well. Might have to dig my way out and go down to Tesco then. I should have done it sooner but been faffing about. Think I'll send hubby on way home from work in the morning he's going there to get the essentials anyway.

If you do send hubby make sure that he has your clubcard with him as he will need to produce it in order to exchange the vouchers.
