Avoiding Memorial Day Crowds
May 2006 - this is what we are planning:
Notes: We will be having 5 park Flextickets which last 14 days from first use - so we have to go to Busch Gardens not later than the 5th, which will be the 14th day after we first use them in IoA. We will not be going to MK or MGM. We did these two last year. I have only allowed one day for US/IoA but we will be staying on-site (Hard Rock) and will have the Flextickets, so I can in fact go in and out as much as I want while DW is in the pool! Monday 29th May will be Memorial Day. I have left it as a rest day. Grateful to hear anybody's views. lefthanded

We are doing the same - keeping the Saturday through Monday free of any definate plans - we will keep clear of the parks and probably do even more retail therapy! Plan to do the 2 Universale parks and Sea World on the Tuesday through Friday after the holiday weekend.

Looks good we're be out there the same time we arrive on the 19th, the best bit going at Memorial Weekend is the sales have done them now for the last couple of years and they are brilliant especially Bloomingdales.

We have had to change our itinerary slightly due to problems with the flight out. Going out one day earlier than planned would have given us one extra day in Miami.
BUT, I have always wanted to visit Key West - so after some soul-searching (and measuring the miles), the first week our our 2006 itinerary now looks like this: Friday 19th May. Fly Heathrow to Miami Saturday 20th May. Explore Miami Sunday 21st May. Drive Miami to Key West Monday 22nd May. Drive Key West to Naples Tuesday 23rd May. Drive Naples to Orlando Wednesday 24th May. Continue as planned. I know that his doesn't give us any time in Key West, but that's OK. We just want to go there, take a few photos, and visit the Hard Rock Cafe. The rest of the Keys can wait for another holiday. If anyone else has ever paid a flying visit to Key West I would be pleased to hear about it. What do you think, folks - am I crazy to attempt such a trip? lefthanded
