Italian Lakes
Well, after originally thinking we wouldn't be going due to mum's ill health, she's now been given the OK to travel by the doctor and we're reverting to our original plan (although we never cancelled) to go to Riva (Lake Garda) in Italy in 2 weeks time.
Can anyone offer any tips and things not to miss? Thanks Clare |

Funnily enough my parents are around Lake Garda at the moment - staying at Gargnano. It's their first holiday since my father was diagnosed, so we are hoping they enjoy it as he won't be able to travel much longer. They are due back late Tuesday, so I will see what they say and report back. It looked good in the brochure anyway.
Also have a colleague who goes there alot and loves it! I'll ask her tomorrow. |

We've just come back from Bardolino on Lake Garda. We've been four times now, it's so beautiful. We spend several days visiting the various towns around the lake, Limone and Malcesine are close to you. We use the ferries which run fairly frequently. We usually visit Verona and Venice. You will be staying at the top of the lake so these will be more difficult to get to for you. Are you hiring a car? If not, there are several excursions including the Dolomites and Florence.
There is also Gardaland, Italy's largest theme park. We stay close to this but it's a fair hike from where you are. Lake Garda is so beautiful, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. I have some maps and tour info, I'd be quite happy to send them to you if you want. Tracy |

we love the italian lakes... in fact I am just finalising a villa holiday or our Silver Wedding/ MIL 70th for next year in Italy. Not the Lakes but Naples so we can leave the kids with MIL for 2 days and swan off to Rome for our own celebration! then visit amalfi etc.

Garda is so lovely - you will have a great time. Strolling along in the warm evenings with an ice cream in hand and browsing the shops in the little alleyways. Good food, good wine, good weather what else do you need!
