Cheap breaks, last week in August?

As we brought back some money with us from Orlando and I have the last week in August off, I thought we might get away for a "relaxing" holiday.
I'm looking after neighbours cats as they are on honeymoon till the Wednesday, so Wednesday till Monday would be great.
Any ideas where we can find a chep break that will do 5 nights?
Spain is probably the favourite or the Greek islands are fairly cheap too.
I have tried Icelolly.com, but nothing there that suits us, any other ideas?

Does it have to be abroad?
What about a romantic relaxing spa break, you can unwind and chill out for a few days with no hassel of airports etc. You can stay in the country or the city, go on spoil yourself.

It has to be abroad as we like to chill out by the pool or on the beach and we also like the atmosphere abroad.
We live in a seaside town but we don't have the weather to go to the beach every day.
Its myself and my 16 year old daughter who are going.

Most of the package deals with late availability will be for 7 or 14 days. Try looking for on Easyjet/Ryanair or BMI Baby for cheap flights then find a hotel through Expedia/Opodo or Last Minute.

We have been looking for ages and there is not much going. We live in the North East of England and anything decent from our two local airports was very expensive. We have ended up booking 1 week in Tenerife in a Thompsons super Family Hotel which gets great write ups and is just the sort of thing we like. The cost for 2 adults and 2 children self catering is £1200, the down side is we are flying from Glasgow. Scotish schools are back to school at the end of August so thats why its cheaper flying from a Scotish airport.

We saw 1 week in Benidorm at the Magic Benidorm Villa, all inclusive for £1,039 (for 2), but thats not what you would call cheap.
Theres not much at all at the moment, will try again in the week.

It's the worst time of year for a cheap package. Tour operators have stopped over extending their capacity, and the schools are still out.

We have been looking the the UK for the same week for a short break. Either a cottage for 3/4 nights or DBB, or a caravan. They are coming in at £450-£600! So, no where is very cheap. Camping is about the only cheap option.

Centre Parcs are doing 30% off for people travelling as a twosome. (We would do that but we are a four)
