I am so frustrated - I've just spent ages pricing flights etc. for a short break to DLP
You can fly on a low-cost airline to Paris from London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, etc etc What's wrong with Newcastle? EasyJet to CDG from Liverpool is £224 AirFrance from Newcastle - £690. It's a bit of a difference! Doesn't really seem very fair to me. off for a sulk... Bev |

Wow - that's a bit of a difference Bev! You could get a taxi to Liverpool from Newcastle for the flight and still have change left over!

I know!
we could drive to Leeds or Edinburgh, which is what we did last time, but it just makes it such a long journey for a few days, and it's so annoying when we only live 20 minutes away from Newcastle airport. Still can't decide what to do at half-term... I predict we will be staying home! Bev |

And er, makes it a long day, I know, but BA fly Newcastle to Birmingham and depending on when you go, it doesn't look to bad.
BA Am I helping or making it worse? .

I'm not sure Carole! I had seen the flights from Birmingham - they go into Beauvais which is quite far from DLP. I've also been looking at RyanAir from Glasgow but it's equally inconvenient.
At the moment, I am hoping my mum will come up with a good deal through work (she works for BA, and can get cheap flights but not until 3 weeks before). That would involve changing at Gatwick. Or, we could try NCL-Stansted-Charles de Gualle. Which is on Go and Buzz. It's just getting all the timings right that is tricky. Bev |

I have just done a quick search on www.expedia.co.uk and did 2 Adults and 2 Children from Newcastle to Charles de Gaulle for 21/10 til 24/10 and it has come up with a total of £530 (for 4) about £132.50 each with BA changing in London. Does this help? |

thanks Mark - that's better than the price I was getting on travelocity - it's also quoting me £466 for the 3 of us on Air France which is a direct flight - much better than £400 each which was the best price on the Air France website.
Still doesn't compare well with Liverpool to CDG on EasyJet at 179.55 GBP for all 3 of us - but we'd have to drive to Liverpool, and stay in a hotel overnight at least one night, so while it would still be cheaper, even including that, it would be a lot of hassle. I guess maybe I am just expecting too much! The problem is, can I afford/justify nearly £850 - £1000 for a 3 night break. bev |
