We stayed 14 nights in Jan 24. We were very impressed by the resort. We were in Building 46 Jamaica. Room was cleaned every second day, which was great for us as a couple. We were 5 min walk to each of the Skyliner stations and Port Royale. Small pools were great. I thought the internal bus service was great and we were really lucky with busses to the parks too. We loved being able to use the restaurants at the Riviera and pop over to AOA and POP Resorts. We really loved having the refillable mug and being able to fill it up downstairs in our building.
The resort was so calm and relaxing. Wandering around the resort was just lovely. I don’t think it would be as great for kids in comparison to some of the other resorts.
The only downside our room had a connecting door. The gap underneath made the noise really bad when there was guests next door. You could hear every word said, so I would definitely check next time if this was the type of room

We booked this hotel in April 2017 and assumed that the refurbishment would be complete as we had been led to believe it would be done by the Summer.
This review is based on our experience which of course will be different for those who arrive after 8 th October when the refurb of the main hotel is open.
We were in Martinique 26 facing out towards the road. We had a corner room by the stairs but this was not noisy. We had a first floor room.
The room was nice if a little date and we chose to opt out of housekeeping. Unfortunately the carpet was quite dirty even on arrival and I noticed our socks would get black soles.
Whilst we were there they were redoing the outside planting so the walkways were often muddy, I don’t think this would normally be an issue. We did not have any problems getting towels , sheets or extras for the room. Housekeeping knocked each day to ask if we needed anything.
Wjikst we were there the food court was replaced by the food tent. We used this on a few occasions for breakfast and dinner and thought the food was good but always the same. The spyglass grill was good and catered well for DD who is gluten free. The freestyle machines in Martinique were often out of order which meant a long walk to the tent but when they were working they were good.
We liked the small pool at Martinique as it only had 3 buildings using it it was often just us there. We did not use the main pool but the facilities looked good for families
We walked around the whole resort Nd despite the current building works thought it was a very pretty resort. The Skyliner supports in Jamaica and Aruba are large and ugly. I am not sure I would want to stay in this area once it is open. Some of the Skyliner will run very close to the buildings and pools.
We were happy with our stay and found the CM’s to be very friend,y and helpful. The main issue was the buses. With such a large resort the provision for buses particularly at beginning and end of day was hit and miss. We often had 2 buses for one park and we’re glad to be on the first bus pick up as they often were full by the time they got to Jamaica. The buses from DS in particular were very poor, the area. We also noticed that CBR was often the furthest bus stop at the parks.
Although we enjoyed our stay we preferred POFQ for its size and better bus service. We also felt that the buses at AS resorts were better as the one bus stop made it fairer for all ie first come first on the bus
We would only return if the price was particularly good.

Getting Excited

We stayed here in June 2017 when all the constructions works had just started. We had booked our holiday direct with Disney before they had been announced so they offered us $70 A DAY compensation which got put on a gift card, for a 2 week stay this was pretty sweet to say the least and all without asking, we just received an email the month before we left (thanks Disney!)

We loved our stay here despite the construction works, the skyliner work hadn't started yet however it was the buiding of Riviera Resort and the reimagining of the Caribbean in resort in general that we experienced.

There was no construction noise that we noticed and since we don't tend to eat breakfast or eat on our hotel property much, the fact the food court was in a temporary tent didn't bother us.

I found the resort magical despite all this, the buses were frequent and on-time, the general theming is wonderful and you really do feel like you're somewhere in the Caribbean! The staff were always more than helpful and our room was spotless and in a great position. It's one of the best resorts I've stayed in, in regards to it's location for travelling to the parks as nothing feels ages away!

I loved the fact that each section had it's own little private pool, we spent several afternoons here, cooling off from the summer sun and we only had the company of another family, ONCE!

I'm sure now that the construction work is all done and the Skyliner almost open, this resort will only get better and I can't wait to go back!

My 6 year old son and I stayed here for our first trip alone and on Disney property. I don't drive so so it was much easier for us to stay on site and utilise the magical express etc. On arrival at the resort we were checked in by a lovely lady who explained how everything would work with the magic bands and dining credits etc. The resort is so big she advised us to wait for the resor bus to take us back to our room. We did this and then spent about 15 minutes trying to locate our building. I had requested and upper floor in Jamaica and we had been granted both. I did find it a little difficult with getting both our big cases up the stairs but we managed 😊
The magic bands worked first time letting us into our room and once the cases were dropped we headed out to find some food. The room was great, perfect for what we needed, small fridge, coffee machine, with coffee and milk, no tea so take your own 😊 If you like a morning brew. From our room we had to walk 2 minutes to get to the bridge to take us over to centre town. It was about a 5 minute walk In total, a lovely little stroll to be honest. The food court was great and had a very good selection, the ladies behind the food counter explained what we could have for our quick service credit and then we went across and scanned our bands. The till staff weren't the friendliest on any of the times we used the restaurant. The dining area was nice and colcourfuk and always lots of areas to choose to sit at.
The swimming pool was great too, but due to the weather we only went in a couple of times, we had a choice of plenty of loungers and used the changing area to dry off before we went back to our room.
Buses were frequent and we never waited more than 10-15 minutes and the drivers were always so lovely. The good thing about Jamaica is we were always first on the bus and in most cases first off too on the way home unless the bus took a different route which it did from one park but I forget which one. The only thing with this is it can be 10 minutes before you even get out of the resort which never caused us an issue and we just factored this into our plans.
Overall a great resort and with the plans they have for the refurbishment and the gondola system, we will definitely be returning.

Recently stayed for two weeks and was our first time in a Disney hotel as we normally stay in Villas. First impressions of the resort are it is very pretty, lots of landscaping to make it look good. Very good free internal bus service to allow you to move around the very large resort is very useful.

Rooms are very poor, very dull yellow walls, low ceiling heights, very claustrophobic feeling, poor showers that are stuck to the walls, air con is loud and a little smelly when on and there is very little storage available.

The main eating area is very busy and the food is very repetative and is not the best available. We did eat in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Yacht Club and it was a different world. It seemed to us that this hotel is aimed at the UK market and there was so many of us there and it reminded us as a bit of a Butlins camp.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful explaining the QSDP for the 3000th time. All in all if you can afford better then do so and if not get a villa as I feel you will not get your money worth.

Relaxing at the Grand Floridian

Just returned from a 2 week stay and was really impressed with this hotel, our first stay onsite at WDW (we had previously stayed in Camp Davy Crockett at DLP).

The welcome we got at check in was amazing. The lady was so enthusiastic and happy to see us and really joined in with us and how excited we were to be there.

The landscaping is beautiful and lovely to walk around. We were in Jamaica Building 45 and facing the lake so our location was absolutely perfect. I know people recommend corner rooms for the 2 windows but to be honest you rarely have your curtains open anyway so this doesn't make much difference. We were right by a stair well and I did wonder if it was going to be noisy but it really wasn't. I think only once did I hear anyone returning to their room. This might have been because (according to friends staying there) the air con was so loud. Given that we often fall asleep listening to storm sound effects this really was not a concern to us.

Yes it would be nice to have had a refill station closer to our room. We would definitely have gotten more use out of the refillable mugs if this were the case but it really was no hassle to walk to OPR when you were walking in such lovely surroundings.

I had no issue with the quality of the rooms. Perhaps I had low expectations but I thought they were perfectly fine and not run down. Yes there is absolutely no Disney theming in the rooms but I really liked that. We were in the parks everyday and didn't leave the World so we didn't need Disney when we were back in our hotel room. We also visited friends at Art of Animation and I have to say that the rooms there were way too Disney (and I love Disney).

There is an internal shuttle bus but we never used it. Even had we been further away from OPR and it was raining could I imagine that I would ever have used it. We had a car so used a mixture of bus and car to get to the parks. We also drove to the water parks and there is no direct bus transfer there. Waiting times were pretty good and no bus was ever too full for us to get on. And being in Jamaica we were almost always the first to be dropped off in the evening which was great. My biggest gripe about the bus transport was the distance of the bus stops from the park entrances. At MK the CBR bus stop is the second to furthest from the entrance. As I've heard other people comment, surely the moderate resorts should have better positioned bus stops than the basic resorts?

The only downside was the food offering at OPR. As others have said it does have a Butlins-type feel to it. The food there was average and the staff were all friendly but it was not a very pleasant dining experience. And after experiencing the Broadwalk Bakery which is a CS restaurant just like OPR we were really disappointed. At the Broadwalk Bakery you could get the most amazing cupcakes and Mickey Mouse Brownies as snack credits which made the cookies at the grab 'n' go section would really pathetic. Yes I know the Broadwalk is a deluxe hotel but I was surprised at how superior the CS food was there compared to at OPR. But then I guess if you compare my logic regarding the bus stops then everything should be better at deluxe resorts.

All in all, if I couldn't afford Wilderness Lodge I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time onsite and we thought CBR was a lovely resort. On first entering the resort it looks very swish - and that continued for the rest of our stay. It's very pictureque with it's palm trees and lake, all kept immaculately tidy and manicured.

Yes, this is a large resort - one of Disney's largest - but it's not quite as large as some make out. We have stayed in the Jamaica area, block 43, and Martinique area, block 21, neither of which were one of the closest blocks. But a leisurely stroll either across the island or around the lake meant we were never more than 4 or 5 minutes away from the main building with its varied foodcourt. Sure, it can be a bit inconvenient if you want a drink and there's a Florida storm going on, but at other times the walk is very pleasant (and far less distance than you'd walk in the parks).

In general, we found the buses to be pretty good and generally waited no more than 10 or 15 mins. Occasionally you may have to wait awhile for buses; it did take over half an hour once for the bus to Epcot to arrive, which after seeing 6 buses to Magic Kingdom go past, did seem a bit much. And sometimes the buses can be quite full. But they are far from terrible.

Our stay in Jamaica was probably better than in Martinique. Our Jamaica room was closer to the main building and generally quiet, whereas the Martinique room was actually slightly further away from the main building and faced the parking lot area at the back. It could sometimes be noisy at night and all of the pathways we had to use to get to our room felt a bit like a maze at first.

All the rooms have recently been refurbished when we stayed so the decor inside looked new and clean. However, there was no Disney-theming at all. And the room was just a simple motel style room - the outside door opened straight into a two bed room, with a main unit with lots of drawer space, a small fridge and a flatscreen TV on top. There's a sink area with two sinks that can be partitioned off from the bedroom by a couple of sliding doors. Plus there's a separate toilet/bathroom. There is a small safe in the sink area - enough to fit a couple of iPads and your passports in here but nothing larger. Anyway, the room was always clean and very comfortable but, for the price, no better than an average hotel room on International Drive.

The staff were always welcoming and friendly. However, on both our visits check-in took ages to do (even though we'd done online check-in at home) - they really need more staff on the desks. The main pool is excellent, the foodcourt and shop were very good too. You could sort of see the Epcot fireworks from the main area but even better were the fireworks at Hollywood Studios.

Overall, we really like this hotel. Clean, beautiful, generally friendly, helpful, buses ok. Room was ok but nothing special.

We just returned from a 2 week stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort. As our first stay here, I was a little worried about the size of the place - it's huge! But after a recommendation on the Dibb, we requested a room in "Jamaica" which was perfect - it's nice and peaceful as it's away from the main area however it's only about a 6-7min walk across the bridge to the food court. The bus stop at Jamaica is also the first drop off which is perfect after the fireworks! The food court is excellent and we found the place spotless. Each village has it's own heated pool and even a beach on the lake. Easily our favourite Disney resort so far!

I stayed here for 2 weeks in October with my partner and our 1 year old son.
We loved the resort and felt the layout gave a more personal feel than staying in a big hotel. The resort was massive but there were enough paths intertwining and a car service from the furthest locations to take you to the central area (food court, gift shop etc) - If you're staying here we found it better to have a car, especially if you are travelling with a little one.

Whilst we were there the main bridge was being refurbed which we were slightly concerned about but it was fine the walk around the lake was nice and there was a shuttle boat running to take you across, we ate a few times at the food court which was fab they were really accommodating with my daughters gluten free diet the pool area was nice and clean and well staffed the cabana pool bar was fab and had gorgeous cocktails, rooms were a nice size and clean and tidy we really enjoyed our stay here we had no issues with the buses never had to wait long

We will defo return but would like to try some other disney hotels too !

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon last year. I was apprehensive after reading some pretty bad reviews but we loved it! Yes, it's not luxury but we weren't expecting it to be. The landscaping is beautiful and we loved our morning walk around the lake. I loved that it wasn't a high rise hotel and that it's split into different villages as it gives it a more tropical resort-like feel. At times, we genuinely felt like we were in the Caribbean! We stayed in Jamaica and couldn't fault it. It was close to the bridge that takes you across the lake to Old Port Royale and Jamaica is often the first pick up/first drop off for the buses. Would definitely stay here again if the price was right but want to try other Disney hotels first!

We stayed here last year and loved every second.

Upon arrival staff were nothing but magical. There was a trainee processing our check in and he couldn't find our magic bands, he found them but not after a bit of a delay. I think he felt bad so asked his manager if he could upgrade us to the pirate rooms which he did. These are based over at Trinidad North which is the furthest block of rooms from the food court but we didn't mind as we are are both two fit and healthy twenty somethings and didn't mind the walk.

The room was lovely and the only noise we found was the bus that stopped near to our window each morning, but we weren't sleeping in anyway and besides it meant that we didn't have far to walk at the end of a long day at the parks.

The food court was lovely, had the standard disney QS grub, but we didn't mind that. We always found a table and never had an issue with queuing. there is also a nice gift shop nearby where we stocked up on snacks on our last night.

The pools were great. The main one looked like fun or kids but we always wen't for the smaller 'village' pools that were usually very quiet. We even had one of the pools to ourselves or at least two days in a row!

One evening we even watched the fireworks at Epcot from just outside the food court. It was stunning.

We would 100% stay here again!

This is a very big hotel. I travelled with my mum and my two year old daughter and felt that yes while it is big, it was enjoyable. We stayed in Jamaica - recent refurb - and found that this was convenient for busses and to the main food court. However, though i enjoyed this hotel I don't think i would rush back unless it was a super price! This may be though that i fancy trying all the hotels onsite lol.

This was a complete delight. From the min we got there till we left, we loved every bit of it. So relaxing was the atmosphere that we were inclined to have a frink by the pools of an evening and just watch the world go by. The grounds are really lovely, beaches, hammocks, pathways etc all kept beautifully (as u would expect).
The food court had something for everyone and as long as you didn't eat there morning noon and night I think you would be fine.
Rooms were all good (there was 9 of us in 3 rooms) every one was happy. Housekeeping was great as usual.
Buses every 10 mins. so no waiting around.
When you get there the customs house is a bit different from other Disney hotels in as much as you have to jump in a free taxi to your rooms once you have checked in, a bit of a pain but hey ho.

We loved CBR! We checked in at Customs House rather tired, over excited from the magical express amazing driver and that's when the magic started. My DS aged 9 was given a sword and my DD aged 7 was given a wand, totally unexpected, totally amazed, magic bands followed and we thought we were in heaven. Little did we know but the magic had only just begun. We were driven to our room in Trinidad South, the luggage and us were deposited to the DS and DD surprise in a pirate room! Well worth the money, room was perfect, who doesn't want to open up a barrel to find the fridge!

The location was great with the small pool virtually empty for the 2 weeks we were there so it felt like our own private pool. We watched illuminations a couple of times while the kids enjoyed a night swim. The walk to Old Port Royale was lovely along the lake and we never felt that it was too far. Both kids loved the breakfasts at the QS restaurant. We all loved the main pool with multiple slides, we never had problems grabbing a sunbed whatever time of day we arrived. The pool bar served great cocktails in the evening and the kids enjoyed movies under the stars.

We found the buses to be regular ando had no problems getting to and from parks. I don't think we waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus.

Mousekeeping were great and replenished multiple soaps and shampoo, the only minor issue we had was that they turned the air con up so much that it felt like a meat locker some nights when we got back from a hard day of park action.

In summary, we loved it, so much so that once in a lifetime turned into 2nd time lucky! We're not just going back to the most magical place on earth we're going back to the CBR too!

We stayed here for our honeymoon in April. Overall it was ok, the theme is amazing and the attention to detail outstanding. The price I'd say was reasonable when you get free DDP but i have noticed quite a few flaws.

The resort it's self overall looked quite run down, like it needed a bit of TLC and a lick of paint.

The mouse keepers were lacking to say the least, they did the bear minimum and only once did they do anything beyond that like leave a little extra or a shaped towel.

The resort is far to laid out it takes forever to get to the other side we were right by the check-in building which was great after our long journey, that's if it hadn't been tipping absolute buckets, in which case we couldn't we couldn't get to our building without getting soaked and because there was lightening there was no shuttle service running so we had to wait a further hour and a half till we could actually get to our room.

The buses! Well were do i start, because the resort was so big there are bus station in each village but we were at the last village on the root so by the time the bus got to us it was full and that's when it even bothered to come to our stop. By the second week we took to walking to the first stop which was thankfully only the next village over.

But i do have a few good points the food court was really good the cast members were always friendly and helpful. The table service restaurant was amazing by far our favorite of all the ones we did throughout Disney and we did a fair few, the waitress was nothing but polite and helpful.

The fact we could have the items we bought in the parks delivered to the store in the resort was so helpful and easy to use, we had quite a lot delivered a few of which were quite delicate and they were in perfect condition still when we got them back.

So like i said overall it was ok but for what i was expecting from a Disney resort after seeing how well they take care of their parks i was disappointed.

Mum and I stayed here for a week for our first ever onsite trip. I loved the relaxing, spread out feel which was lovely when we returned one day from the parks for a rest and how pretty it was.

However how spread out it was was why the buses weren't so great. We frequently waited a while for a bus then it took a while to leave the resort. We stayed in Martinique so was frequently the first stop on the way back however.

Food court and rooms were fine.

While the room was clean, the decor is a little tired now. That's not to say there was any chipped paint or scratched walls, however. The only adverse comment I'd make is that the fridge inside the credenza wasn't in properly - it was obviously a replacement to the original and didn't fit the metal fittings in the base. Sometimes we couldn't get the door to the credenza closed. They also want to consider removing the back of the cupboard as the base of the draw above it got warm! I also had to turn the fridge up to full to get our drinks properly cold.

The resort is very pretty, but definitely very spread out. The resort buses are too infrequent for our liking: we never waited less than 20 minutes for a bus to our chosen destination; however there were plenty of buses headed for everywhere else. The buses also seem to take the long way round to everywhere. Whenever we drove, we got there so much quicker.

The food hall was very good, though, and we found plenty of choices when we wanted to get a CS meal. They could, however, have had considerably more checkouts open and, dare I say it, one checkout dedicated to scanning bands as most of our queuing time was behind people paying cash.

I'd definitely stay there again - if only to get a chance to explore properly! We were never there!

We stayed here from 28th June to 4th July in a Pirates Room.

On arrival we checked in at Customs House. CM treated our little girl to a nice little sparkly wand and also treated us all to a 1st visit badge (technically it was only our daughter’s first time to Orlando, but it was our first family holiday here).

A small bus took us to our building which was Building 35 found in the Trinidad South section of the complex which is where the Pirate Themed Rooms can only be found. This is said to be one of the furthest from the main area of the complex, Old Port Royale Centrepoint. It is a 7 minute leisurely stroll from our section to the front door of the centre, no-one in the family had a single issue in regards to this.

On arriving at our room, we were greeted with a brilliantly themed room which was directly aimed at the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I’m a big fan of the movies and obviously it appealed very much to the oldest in the party.

The room detail is great, the fridge is held within a Barrel, the drawers are within what looks like crates, detailed table (2 chairs), beds are really good, brilliantly designed and I found them good for my back, great detail on them. Even the carpet is themed too. There is a Privacy Curtain to the wash basin which also has the safe (which is relatively small, not great depth), hangers, the bathroom is quite small, but no issue, the wall has a design of The Flying Dutchman on it engraved. You also have a phone and Alarm Clock found at the bedside table (also a Barrel), TV and coffee making facilities. Also an ironing board, Iron and Hairdryer can also be found. An Ice container is also available which can be filled at the building ice machines.

Room service is daily and replenishes towels, shower/hair products, soap etc. There is a laundry area too in each Island (there is the option for in-room laundry service), as well as smoke area, and also toilets too.

In terms of the resort itself it seemed a very relaxing and laidback retreat, very clean. There is no real reference to Disney throughout the area, obviously at Centrepoint you will have the shops (Calypso Trading Post and Straw Market), these are relatively small but have quite a lot on offer.

The food court which is also found here (this is also the area that you will find the mug refill station). I found the food was varied enough and offered decent options, we never took in Shutters which is the table service restaurant. In all honesty we never took in the food court too many times, maybe twice during out stay, but we felt it offered enough to keep us happy.

Outside near the pool you can find Banana Cabana which offers various drinks such as beers, cocktails, spirits, soft drinks etc. There are several tables and chairs outside too, this is also where the outside movie is played.

Carribean Cay also offers a play area and also some hammocks, this area is quite dark at night, but does offer a great location to watch Illuminations in the nearby Epcot Park.

The pool area is very impressive too, also alongside is the Water Play Area which has a Boat with various slides, tip bucket and other water activities. The main pool is well themed like a Port Castle, there is a zero entry also. Towels can be picked up and left at this area too. Also there are small pool areas at each of the Islands throughout the resort.

The resort is also very popular with joggers due to the size of the resort, so if your into this all the better for you.

Dotted around the resort is small sandy areas which also house hammocks that you can relax on too if you wish whilst the little one’s play in the sand. The lake is out of bounds though.

Buses are very frequent and each Island has it’s own bus stop, as well as the Centrepoint area too. An Internal bus also services the resort. Also the buses played Caribbean style/Steel Drum music throughout our journey to the parks, that didn’t seem to be the case with other resorts we stayed/travelled to/from.

Parking is plenty, and there are parking throughout the resorts at each Island.

Personally I found the place a joy to stay at, the place was perfect and if it wasn’t for a 10 hour flight to get there would quite happily spend a stay here without needing the theme parks. I would like to stay again sometime in the future any maybe get to see more of the amenities that we never managed to see and spend a bit more time in the actual resort as opposed to as just a base before hitting the parks.

Stayed here for Disney Marathon Weekend, just for convenience of being onsite for the event ... can only say I have not stayed on Disney property before and this place blew me away... why did I pick this resort over others? ... simply the price ... the rooms are great, the resort is great, the environment beautiful ... highly recommend

Don't know if I will stay on property again in the future, found it hard to justify cost in the past ... I am sure price was good due to time of year ... however if you do stay here ... you will love it ... Enjoy

First time we'd stayed onsite at Disney. Absolutely lovely resort, with fantastic scenery and views over the lake. We decided to go for a moderate resort being our first time staying on-site, and we had a look around some other resorts, on being the Beach Club. Though the rooms were nice, we were glad we had booked Caribbean Beach not Beach Club as it didnt have much else to offer other than nice rooms. Caribbean Beach has a good choice food court and nice patio area around the large pool. Great resort for famillies aswell as just adults. Room was very clean and tidy, and serviced every day, aswell as being a good size. Cant wait to visit this resort again!

We had an amazing time when we stayed at CBR in 2011.

Check in was quiet and hassle free and we were delighted to have water view rooms in Aruba (even though we didn't pay for them!) Disney had also honoured our request to be near to each other (we were a party of 5 in two rooms) and we had side by side rooms)

Our rooms had very comfortable beds and were spotless every time we returned from the parks.

OPR was bustling, fun and the bakery items in the Deli were FAB! My Mum still raves about the crumb cake to this day! I also loved the Chicken Caesar Salad in OPR. We also loved the POTC music in OPR. I don't know if they still have this or whether they just had it when we were there to coincide with the launch of On Stranger Tides but it was awesome nonetheless.

Bar was fantastic!

Bus service was better than when we visited in 2007.

Only two downsides for us this time:

1) The birds. These were a problem last time we came and were a problem again this time. Obviously it must be a problem everywhere as most Disney resorts are set around a lake of some sort but every time you eat, they seem to be on the approach. It's a shame because in the gorgeous weather, you want to sit outside but don't want to be hassled!

2) The merchandise: This was in line with a general trend in Disney merchandise which we're told is being rectified now but I was really disappointed with the merchandise offered in the shop. When we went in 2007, there were loads of cute bits specific to CBR - including the amazing wine glasses which I wanted so bad!

Overall, we would thoroughly recommend CBR to any family! The theming is superb (we loved walking over the bridge to the sound of distant steel drums on a morning) , the staff friendly and helpful and the service amazing :)

A slight grievance which has put us off going next time is that they seem to be hiking the price up of this resort. I don't know whether it's due to location or the upgrades but I don't know why it's so much more expensive than the other moderates!

The room and resort is great. Very clean and the staff were very friendly. The beaches are lovely and the pool area is great. It is lovely to take a stroll around the lake at night. The only bad point is the buses. We have to wait over a hour for a bus somtimes not the 15 to 20 mins as stated.

CBR was a fantastic place to stay, it was so quiet and tranquill. I wrote to them abou 4 weeks before we traveled and asked for an upgrade to a preferred room, offering to pay on arrival, unfortunately i broke my knee on the flight out and the room they had allocated was on the 1st floor. They then however moved us straight away to a preferred ground floor room in Martinique with no charge at all. I couldn't praise the staff enough for the help and assistance they gave me even down to the Disney paramedics who checked me over gave me ice packs and offered to take me to hospital. We will be going back in 2012 as you can imagine i was rather restricted confined to a wheelchair but i would also like to say i got on 90% of the rides with the help and care of the park staff.

I really enjoyed a wonderful stay at CBR. I ended up in Trinidad North in a lovely corner room with a view of the lake. The resort is beautiful with great beaches. The pool is great as is the aqua play area for younger children.
The food court was good with lots of choice including some healthy options. It was never really heaving and there was always spare tables.
The CMs were really friendly and helpful.
The bus service wasn't bad but I did have a few waits of about 20 minutes for buses as I must have just missed a bus. The internal bus service was also useful and frequent.
A great resort.

We stayed in a pirate room, which was really great. The attention to detail was second to none. The main pool area was brilliant, the kids loved it , they also liked the quiet pools as well. The foodcourt was lovey and the was the usual disney fare.

We also loved the beach areas as well. In the evening we used to sit there reading, it was so quiet and peaceful.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2009. We were allocated a Nemo themed room in the Barbados block which was right next to custom house where you check in. The room it's self was clean and cleaned regularly - however we were up at universal for a night and informed the maid. We returned the next day to find the room uncleaned but informed reception and all was sorted when we got back from the parks later that day.
Each block has its own individual pool which was never too busy - we also had a beach area with hammocks but no swimming in the lake due to health and safety.
The walk to the food court was at the most 10mins at a strolling pace was a nice way to wake up in the morning. Plenty of variety at the actual food court of good quality for counter service. The main pool is also located right near the food court which is handy for spending an afternoon relaxing up there. At night we could see Illuminations from here.
There is a lot of wildlife at the resort - Plenty of ducks which like to follow you around also saw frogs, lizards and a humongous beetle - all outdoors you will be pleased to hear.
Would happily stay here again nice relaxing resort.

My husband and I stayed at this resort in September on our first visit to wdw and we loved it. We were in Aruba which was around a five minute walk to the food court and main pool, however each island has its own pool and also a beach which seating and hammocks. Although the resort was busy it never seemed packed and often we were the only ones on the beach watching the world go by. The individual pools also tended to be very quiet, which was lovely.
The rooms were clean and tidy and my only complaint was the the bath was very low down. It was also fun looking for the hidden mickey's in the furnishings.
The bus service was excellent there was never much more than a ten minute wait for a bus and only coming back in te evenings did they seem very busy.

We stayed here for 21 nights in Sept 2008 & to be honest it was a let down but this maybe due to our high expectations for staying on-site for the first time.We stayed in Martinique & whilst we thought the landscaping & outdoor areas were lovely we could easily been in any resort & you would have struggled to notice any thing different about the rooms.
Port Royale could be a bit like a school dinner hall sometimes with kids on heely's sliding in & out of people with hot food trays. The breakfasts were ok but the sandwich bar at lunch time was excellent,we also ate at Shutters & again this was a very enjoyable meal.
The main pool had only just finished it's redesign & this was the one place where we really felt the theming.Overall though we wouldn't stay there again.

This is a lovely resort, but we found there was too much walking for us, we were quite far away from the food court, and also we weren't keen on having to take a bus to guest services, it all seemed too much like hard work. Our room had very little light as it was in a courtyard, which was incidentally used as a smoking area, so it was lights on all day and don't open your door unless you want to start coughing! The beach with hammocks was a nice touch, but we don't feel we would want to stay there again.

Set out beautifully, clean, quiet and the beach hammocks are just great, even loved the flying squirrels when we were sat around the pool in the evenings. (hope they were squirrels! )
Plenty of washing machines too, never had to wait around for one which I find you do have to do in the I Drive hotels

We chose to stay at CBR on our honeymoon in September 2007. We arrived and had been put in to Jamaica. The bell boy took us round in the van to our room from the main guest check in area. The hotel room was a good size with two double beds, tv, table and chairs. Double sink, bath & shower with free use of a safe. The Jamaica pool are was great and was nearly always quiet. The main area at Port Royale was normally quite busy most of the time and the food area was also normally busy at most parts of the day. The food was good and the pizza's were nice for lunch. Only ate once a Shutters, and the food was good, but other people were complaining about it. The buses were good to the parks, the longest we waited at Jamaica was around 15 minutes, but be warned if you are the first to pick up (Which Jamaica is if bus comes in 2nd enternance) you are sat on the bus for 15 minutes before you get on the main road, and same for way back... It didn' matter to us much as we didn't have a time critical holiday, but if you are relying on time, then it may be worth getting a taxi. All in all is was a fantastic time and we will definatly be back

We stayed in Jamaica which was fine for us as we had a car. It was probably the furthest point from Old Port Royale but it was only a 5 minute walk along the lake front. I liked the fact that each "island" has it own pool as it was never busy. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was also lovely and quiet.

First time we have stayed in any Dsney resort. I must admit to having had a slight concern from comments over the "sprawling" nature of the resort, but these concerns were to prove unfounded.

The room was a reasonable size, although the furniture looked a little worn. We ended up in the Barbados area, and were glad that we had paid extra for a pool view as we were off the "main" walkway on the (USA! ) second floor with very little passing foot "traffic".

We used the Barbados pool a couple of times early in the morning - very quiet as most people were probably leaving for the parks (we tended to go mid-morning then stay to the bitter end! ) but it did get crowded at night.

Cleaning staff did a very good job, and left a towel animal each day - daughter loved this, and they had the towels and soft-toys displayed in everyones window.

We didn't use the food court much, only on our final day of the five to use up our DDP Snack credits, but I didn't find it too far at all - it only took six or seven minutes to walk alongside the lake.

We didn't take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours either, so really only stayed there to get the Disney "experience".

However, be warned about the buses - my wife was speaking to nother guest who had waited almost 40 minutes for a bus to one of the parks. We decided to use our car and take advantage of the free parking - after learning of this, we were extremely glad.

To sum up, we all enjoyed the hotel and swimming pool, but given the price premium you pay to stay in a Disney Resort and that we didn't take advantage of the EMHs, I suspect we may not bother with a Disney hotel for our next visit.

We stayed here in 2007. Here what we thought

The rooms where ok nice size for the mid range Disney. The very little TV we watched mainly just when we got up or when to bed was usual Disney or Fox TV

Where we where was in Trinidad south which was the A long way from the main pool and old port Royal which meant quite along walk each day for meals ect. There was a bus that went around the resort but you don’t want to spend most of your holiday waiting for a bus(Just a note here I spoke to a American who said he used the his car to get to old port royal every day)

Mouse keeping

This was very good the lady that did our room all ways put my partners Cuddle toys in different places in the room one day they where looking out the window next in the bathroom and so on we saw her one day she asked if we minded we said no we loved what she was doing. The rooms where kept very clean and there was always soaps ect

Disney transport

This was very bizzy in the morning and near enough most times we had to stand to go to the parks this was ok as we where last pick up at the resort

Overall I think this resort is two big they could turn it in to 2 resorts and it be a lot better just my option.

found this to be a lovely hotel, stayed in martinique very peacefull location, over looking the car park. room was plenty big enough for 4 people and very clean. had no problem with the walk to get drinks very pleasent walking along the lake side. We did think the main pool was rather small for the size of hotel infact we only used our quiet pool, this was lovely and never had more than a dozen people in it. Found the bus service excellent and hotel very close to the attractions.

We found the whole place fantastic, such a relaxing retreat after a hectic day in the parks,

The extra bonus of the nightly firework display courtesy of Epcot is great. The beaches and the pools are great and kept very clean, In general a lovely resort,

We stayed in aruba 51, ( smoking block ) a perfect location right next to the bridge, took about 5 minutes over the bridge to get to OPR, we used to stop and feed the turtles in the bay.

Our room was nice, i was pleasantly suprised. plenty of space for 4

The re-fillable mugs are superb value. Food court is bright and airy with plenty of choices.
Plenty of buses to get you about also plenty of parking spaces if you have a car.

We ate in shutters which we enjoyed,

we loved the whole place.

We loved it here - mostly. Great rooms, great food hall and shops and great pool. However we probably wouldnt stay here again. SImply beause everything was so far apart. It was a 10 minute brisk walk to the the food hall from our room, and we were only the second building from the food hall. And custom house (the checkin/lobby) was at the opposite end of the resort - a good 15 - 20 minute brisk walk from our room. Also found a cockroach in our room - but think that was just a one off. SLow bus service too as its a huge resort and the bus had to go round the whole lot before it even left for the parks...
Overall a good resort, but too spaced out for us - will stick with Port Orleans.

Lovely hotel. Very large and spread out. Nice size room with privacy curtain to separate the vanity/washing area. We stayed in Jamaica which was quite handy for the centre but as someone as previously said, it took a 15 min. round trip to get your mugs filled. Loved the little beaches with the hammock and my DS loved the pool area. (DD like music as you crossed the island in the centre of the lake!)

Downside: very busy in food court particularly at breakfast time (we waited one morning for 1/2 hour for pancakes which had been ordered!) we soon learned to get pancakes before any other hot food! :-)

One more thing - there's no lifts - which we didn't see as a problem until we had to carry our luggage up the stairs to the 1st floor with a fortnights worth of clothes in them!

Location was very good and close to most parks. Buses were frequent.

We prefer this hotel to ASMo we felt better value for money overall. Would we go again? - yes definitely

This is one of my most favourite hotels to stay in as a large group. I previously stayed here December 2003 with 10 other friends and again in May 2004 with my family just before our wedding.

For me a car is a necessity here just because I am lazy and if I am too far from the food court I will drive it LOL

The rooms are lovely and large and I love the double sink unit as opposed to the shelf you get at POR or POFQ

I have since seen the refurbished rooms for Pirate Rooms which are cool but the standard rooms all have a Nemo theme and are nicely bright.

The quiet pools are usually just that but I enjoy the pool bar at the main pool.

Food court is really good and I always find something nice to eat there. The Table Service Shutters is OK but there are better restaurants on site IMHO

We thought this was a nice place to stay. The staff were so friendly. Our little girl aged 7 thought it was the best place she had stayed in. The pool was nice and did not get too packed. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard. The only downside for us was the distance from the room to the food court, it was quite a walk in the morning to get a coffee, but you could ask for a nearer room I guess.

Nice hotel for sure, grounds beautiful, just pain how big it is sometimes, getting in the car to go to Old Port Royale is not ideal. It was generally clean and tidy as you would expect, although came back to a lizard in the room one night. Its location is very good, probably one of its best features.

The location was spot on. The rooms were clean and spacious. Although, i didnt like the way it was so spread out, we stayed right at the far end and so if we ever wnated our mugs filling, or snacks we had a drive to the food court, i think it wouldnt have been so much of a rpoblem if the rooms had fridges and you stock up.

I didnt like the food court, it was always busy and i didnt find the food that nice, we never tried the restaurant just becaus ethe sample menu at the entrance didnt look appetising at all lol.

The main pool area was great for kids, and i loved the idea of having the smaller quiter pools and the beaches. the lake was beatiful and going on the boats was great.

Overall, The hotel was pleasnet, lovely rooms, better suited to families, altho might be inconvinient for failies with smaller children if they have to travel from there area of the hotel to the main food court everytime they wanted something.

I probably wouldnt stay there again, simply because of the fact its so spread out and my preference is a hotel, not several motel type blocks. altho on a whole a fab hotel and can see why people love it.

I am actually going back to this hotel in May 2014; been twice before in 2001 and 2003; both times superb staying in a water view room (worth paying extra for this) in Jamaica village; will be in the same village in 2014. It really is a great hotel pleasant staff and beautiful environment; it's Disney's biggest hotel complex in about 200 acres. Security great too arriving back late from the parks in your rental car (even if after midnight) and you get a gated and manned security staff to check your ID and let you in. The food court is good too and it has two shops an an arcade... Would definitely recommend it to anyone whether you have never stayed in a Disney hotel or you have but never tried this one. Although it is a long time since we stayed in this hotel, we loved it. DS was very young (4), and it was great to come back in the afternoon for either a sleep or play in the pool.

Rooms were great and included a fridge even then. The whole theming of the hotel was excellent and the foodcourt and restaurant was good value, and very child friendly.

The only thing I would say is be careful which group of buildings you stay in. It was quite a long walk for us to get to the main part of the hotel, so sometimes we used the car.

Best hotel we've stayed at so far!

The only downside was that our room wasn't ready when we arrived at around 6pm but they did give us a $100 refund on our first nights stay which was great considering it didn't really set us back too much.

The hotel grounds were clean and our rooms were cleaned to a good standard. I've heard complaints that the resort is too big but personally I didn't see a problem. Unless you were staying in the Trinidad North/South areas then the walk to the food court and reception area was reasonable. We stayed in Barbados which was around a 5 minute walk to the main pool/food court. Buses to parks were reliable as there was always a cast member there calling the buses over, sometimes you would have to stop at other resort stops but this didn't add more than 5 minutes onto each journey.

We had our own pool by our block so we didn't feel the need to venture to the main pool as ours was always lovely and quiet. The food in the food court was very limited in my opinion. however, the table service place was lovely.

All in all, a beautiful hotel with a quiet atmosphere. The beach areas were great to look at and you can see the Epcot fireworks from the main area. Would definitely stay here again.
