London birthday meal.

I actually don’t know where to start... there is so much choice and I don’t know what I want to do.
A little back story, we were meant to be going to California in December for my 50th and in Disneyland for my birthday. We were probably just going to go to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner as I didn’t want to make food the focus of the day.
Well that’s been postponed now and my dh has booked us 2 nights at The Langham. We arrive the day before my birthday and he has afternoon tea booked which looks amazing and will be enough food for us that day.
But I don’t know where to start for my birthday as now the focus will be a meal. We are not ones for spending a fortune on a meal, I can’t justify the cost. That’s not to say we don’t like good food but no way would we pay around £200 pp for a meal.
We would have booked The Roux restaurant in the hotel but it doesn’t look like it will be opening.
I wish there was a Cheesecake Factory in London...

Has anyone had a great meal that was a bit special but not the whole fine dining shebang?

There’s Bubba Gumps in London if you want to try, it’s not that posh and the seafood is good! We went Oct last year :)

If you like BBQ, the Big Easy at Covent Garden is nice - very informal and a bit like the Polite Pig type food; and Miller & Carter steakhouse never disappoints.

We got a groupon deal for Bubba Gumps, I think it was £17 each! :)
