Six Nights At The Waldorf Astoria, New York - Day 7.

Today was our last day ☹️

We woke around 7am and Mum and Alfie went to the Starbucks opposite the hotel for breakfast and brought it back to the room. We all had the same as yesterday, talk about adventurous!
We finished packing our cases and were out of the room by 10:30am, we left our luggage at the Waldorf and headed to the Rockefeller Centre.
Once there we had our pictures taken on the famous beam, Alfie decided to buy it despite me trying to put him off as I though it was a lot of money 😳

The views were good and we spent a while taking snaps of each other.

After travelling down to the ground floor we visited Ben & Jerry's, we all had ice cream of some sort, it was very sickly!

After this I went to the Nintendo Store to get some Christmas gifts for Alfie while Mum took him to watch the ice skaters outside the Rockefeller.

Next we walked on to Central Park to find Fluffy's Cafe. We got to Columba's Circle and decided to go in the Times Warner shopping centre mainly to look for a Pandora store, they didn't have one.
Alfie was particularly taken by the bronze statue - avert your eyes if you're easily offended 😳

We left the Times Warner and walked up to Fluffy's which was only 5/10 minutes away.

I had pizza, Alfie had a pasta dish and mum had strawberry cheesecake. It was a shame we weren't staying near here as it was excellent value and great for a quick bite to eat.

We decided to walk back towards our hotel as time was getting on and we needed to collect our luggage.
We walked via the Pandora store near Madame Tussaud's. I wanted the Snow White Apple as a reminder of our trip but when I put it on my bracelet it just didn't look right with the rest of my collection so I went for a Mickey head clip instead. I must say the member of staff that I dealt with in there was really pushy, trying to tell me my bracelet is unbalanced (it might be but I'm not really bothered 😒) and talk me into buying more charms.

Once back at the hotel we grabbed our luggage and the bell hop got us a large black cab to take us to the airport. It was such a hairy drive, I certainly wouldn't do it again, how I managed to hold on to my lunch I'll never know! The cost was $70 plus tip.

We checked in using the self service kiosks and dropped our bags.

Our flight was delayed by almost an hour, once on board we started pushing back as soon as our bums hit the seats.

Both Alfie and I fell asleep quickly (probably due to the Dramamine) but not before Alfie was sick!

We woke up just in time for landing at Heathrow, we didn't collect our bags as they were tagged through to Manchester.

We had another Starbucks and waited for the flight to Manchester which left on time. It was an uneventful journey but at least it was vomit free!

Our bags were first off and we waited around an hour for our train back to Leeds.

So, that's the end of our trip, thank you to everyone who has read/commented, we're now looking forward to our first Christmas in Orlando.

A great day and a good trip home, apart from Alfie's sickness. Not long till your next one, it'll be here before you know it.

Loved reading your trip, and Alfie's cheeky photo with the statue :omg::d::d:

Our daughter is going to NY for the first time next weekend to celebrate a friends 30th Birthday.

Always wanted to stay at the Waldorf, is it worth it?

Thanks for sharing.

Great report.

The Statue photo should automatically be 'Dibber photo of the year'

He seems to be sick on every flight we go on now so I'm kind of used to it :(

Thank you for reading and taking time to comment. I, sure your daughter will have a fabulous trip, it really is a great city and we could have easily stayed longer.
The Waldorf was definitely worth it for us but I must admit to be a bit of a hotel snob and not really getting the "it's just a place to sleep"
