The "Adults are only kids grown up" pretrippy Oct/Nov 2013

Hi all,
:wavey:
You may remember me and my family from my previous pre trippy "Bargain hunters" well over 12 months since our last trip we have bit the bullet and booked again!

This time things will be different, staying onsite, flying with Virgin and DDP for the first time. Of course I still like my bargains as you will find out.

Last time I had saved loads of tesco points and had free flights and used my parents timeshare. So it was a 'Bargain' holiday. This time we fly on Oct 30th from Gatwick with Virgin Atlantic, we are staying at OKW for 14 nights with the free DDP. We booked through Sean at Charter Travel who was amazing and got us a great deal.

So... lets meet the cast!

So there is me (36 in 2 weeks ) DH 36, DD1 7 but 8 when we travel & DD2 4 but 5 when we travel.

Last year we travelled with Grandma and Grandad but this time its just us!

As I have already stated we booked with Charter Travel, we have decided to use the magical express but will probably hire a car for a week in the middle of our stay to give us some flexibility. I will probably do this with Alamo as I can collect easily from Down town Disney. Looking at the quotes i think this will cost about £125 fully insured for a little car which is all we need to get us to the shopping bargains and maybe a couple of days at Universal - we will see how the money goes!

So... I have booked a package deal and tonight as they just released the travelodge dates for our holiday I have booked a room the night before for £17. I added breakfast for all 4 of us for £13.30! so for £30.30 we have bed and breakfast.

I have been looking into parking and in the past have used the APH car park. As I am a returning customer I get 20% off so this is coming in at around £56 havent booked yet though as last time I think it was less so holding out!

I am going to need lots of help with restaurant suggestions and booking my ADRS as whilst I have been before I have never stayed onsite or done DDP!

As you can tell from my title us grown ups are more excited than our DD's, well I am already! DH tends to model himself on one of the dwarves at times, any guessed which one? Yep Grumpy! Bless him, I am sure he will get swept along with the magic of it all, you never know, might even get him on the DIBB!

Thats all for now... :wavey::wavey:

Love your Christmas jumpers!

Looking forward to reading about all your planning as we go at a similar time (slightly later though). It all seems so far away doesn't it!?

So glad to hear you enjoyed that time of year. I'm a little worried about the weather. Not so much daytime but the dip in temperatures in the evening, I don't want to be going back and forth from the resort for changes of clothes!

We are at Port Orleans Riverside. We've only been once before (2010) and stayed offsite so we're very excited.

We came within seconds of upgrading to OKW though. By the time we'd upgraded to the regular dining plan and paid for a Preferred room the difference between the two was only a couple of hundred. The lady on the phone actually had everything ready to switch and in the end I decided I already had my heart set on POR. Hopefully it was the correct decision!

I didn't notice your old TR! I shall check it out now.

We're solo next year as it's our 20th wedding anniversary and DD will be going off to University. We're similar ages to you. Maybe we will see you at Gatwick? Hope the planning is going okay? Take care. xx
