Son was assaulted at school this afternoon!
 

DS (12) was assaulted by a group of boys after school this afternoon. Apparently they accused him of saying something about someone (which he totally denies doing) then they turned to walk away. DS said to his friend ‘I thought they were going to do something to me’ then they turned around and one of the boys punched DS in the mouth! A member of the public had to pull the boy away from DS and reported it to the school. The school have contacted me and said they will investigate tomorrow. I have also reported it to the police. Apparently this group of boys are always in trouble at school.
DS is so polite and well mannered and I’m so angry this has happened to him at school where he should be safe!

How old were the other boys? Sounds like a typical school yard scrap if they were similar age.

Hope he’s ok and you get it sorted. He shouldn’t have to put up with that under any circumstance.

They were the same age but I’m sorry I totally disagree with this. DS was set upon by 3 boys in a totally unprovoked attack. He was assaulted. He didn’t even attempt to hit back. It’s far more than a schoolyard scrap in my opinion.

I don’t condone hitting people, but reporting that to the police seems out of proportion to me. He came off pretty well if that was an “assault by a group of boys”.

I think the school investigate it as well. But I do not believe it is a *police* matter.

I’m also shocked! It’s not just about the actual injury, it’s a scary thing to be attacked for no reason and it can impact on how safe someone feels.

If it was outside of school, it’s not a school matter.
