Do Milkmen Still Exist?

Yesterday we had a knock on the door and it was a Guy touting for business as he wants to start a milk round in my area.
Middle aged and keen as mustard so I hope he makes a go of it.

I wouldn’t sign up as I don’t drink any milk and my Wife has a pint every 2 days max so it’s not viable for us or him.

I haven’t seen a Milkman for years but are they still around?

I assume they use vans not floats?

I have milk delivery from a local farm -also delivers butter, bread, jams, orange juice. I started back in the lock down in March and will keep it going as it's so good and I am supporting a local business

Yes we started getting a milkman last year. He was very much appreciated during lockdown. He does eggs and yoghurt as well. Tastes do much nicer than supermarket milk!

Yes ... he delivers to the neighbours every morning at 6.17! Hes not quiet!

We have a local farm milkman 4 days a week, offers loads of stuff like Lucky's and he still uses and electric float.

Yes we have a milkman who delivers twice a week. Admittedly it does cost more than buying in the supermarket but I just love the idea of fresh milk in glass bottles.

This was our first delivery back in June 2013

Yes we have one round here he was rushed off his feet during lockdown. I don't use him as there is only us two but I might regret it the way things are going.

Wow. Good to see it’s alive and kicking.

Is milk more expensive? We just get the 2 pint plastic packed stuff in Asda that’s dirt cheap and probably means the Farmer is ripped off.

A farm local to us has a milk vending machine. Milk from their cows that is pasteurised and then placed in a cool vending machine. Bottles available to buy then refill - milk costs £1 for 1 litre and is delicious! 🥛

There's more around the country, but this is the only one around my area that I'm aware of

We had a guy come round last week offering to deliver milk. Unfortunately we don’t really drink milk or tea and coffee and are not big cereal eaters. Would have taken him up on the offer had we needed milk. We only use approx 1 pint a week if that for sauces etc or throw out most of it away.
