A Surprise return To The Beach Club - Day 8

Today we were very excited for our California Grill brunch and got the MK bus in good time - but as it was RunDisney weekend the roads were rammed and we ended up getting there a little late at 10.50am,but no worries we were seated straight away and had a great window seat view. Bottomless blueberry mimosas were on offer, and we were also offered another cocktail or drink which we ordered with our entrees - but before then there was the amazing buffet to enjoy, and it WAS amazing! So much choice ... by the time the entrees arrived we could hardly do them justice. But we coped, and also managed coffee and mini desserts. 😊
After a long, lazy brunch we waddled round the Contemporary, saw the Christmas display , and shops - DH bought a shirt (to put away for our Disney cruise next year!) and DD bought more decorations. Next was the monorail round to the Grand Floridian where we just had a wander and bought soaps in Basin before heading to the Magic Kingdom.
Main Street looked fab, suddenly it was Christmas and we spent time looking at the decorations before our 7DMT FP, but it was down and it started raining quite heavily - and didn't stop, lots of people sheltered in Big Top Treats. We went into Country Bears which is corny but fun, and Pirates, but it was still raining so we rode BTM and got wet so we dipped into the Little Mermaid ride and DD decided that since she was wet, she'd ride Splash Mountain just as the rain stopped. On the way to Tomorrowland Terrace we stopped in Memento Mori where DD got one of those spooky photos taken.
Next stop was checking in for the Happily Ever After Dessert Party, and we really enjoyed the sweet and savoury treats while looking out at - yes, the pouring rain and we'd booked the Plaza Garden view! Just before it started we buckled up and stood outside, in the end we may as well have been stood under a shower - it was biblical, and everyone was soaked to the skin, but it was a great display and we had an amazing view - but no pics as it was too wet. Needless to say, we headed out of the park straight after as we wanted to get into dry clothes and luckily got on the first bus. We collected hot choc from the Marketplace and drank in our PJs. Another great, if soggy, day. 😊

Such a shame about the rain. The brunch looks amazing. Can’t believe how quickly the Xmas decorations went up after we returned home. We love the soaps from the Basin shop in GF, the pumpkin one we bought this year was especially good

Another fab day if a little rainy! I'd take a rainy day in WDW over a day at work any time :D

Wow, terrible rain, at least it didn't spoil your day or night.

Wow the buffet brunch looks just up my street, is it standard to have bottomless drinks?
