Our 1st DVC Stay - LIVE - March 2011 - Day 7

A much better nights sleep for us both led to a late start this morning. It was 11am before we left the room to call at Artist's Palette to get the first coffee of the day and collect a package from reception that had arrived for DH. For the third time in a week to were headed to Epcot and first stop was the Electric Umbrella for an early lunch - we shared Chicken Nuggets & Fries, Mushroom and Blue Burger & Fries, Strawberry Cheesecake and a Fruit Cup.

After eating DH ventured to 'The Land' to secure fast passes for Soarin' and I people watched! Today was warmer and was forcast to be highs around 72 degrees - from today the weather is due to get warmer each day. Fast passes in hand we headed off to do Ellen's Energy Adventure and were in within 10 minutes. Another one that could do with some updating but there were plently of people on it. Next we had a walk around Festival Pavilion (at least we think that's what it was called!) It was something there for the flower and garden festival and contained some exhibits and talks - a 10 minute walk round and we were done - not garden people at all!

2 new exhibits had appeared:

Next up we went in the single rider line for Test Track which was showing a 30 minutes wait - it wasn't quite that long and we rode about 2 cars apart. Amazingly it didn't break down the whole time we were around it which is not very usual when we are about! I was the 3rd person with a dad and his little boy who had his fingers in his ears and his face buried in his dad's arm all the way round! By this time it was 3pm and we had done evrything we wanted to do so left via the International Gateway and got the boat to Hollywood Studios.

The boardwalk always looks lovely:

We arrived around 4pm and headed straight for the 4.30pm showing of Lights, Motors, Action.

We had originally decided against DHS today as it was the morning extra magic hours venue and when we arrived we were glad we had as there was some cheerleader event going on in the Indiana Jones theatre. We still hadn't timed other shows right but thought about checking out the Little Mermaid show but it was closed for some reason and so we decided to get the boat back to Epcot (the Yacht & Beach club dock was closed) and make the short wak to the Beach Club when we had a dinner reservation at Cape May Cafe. We were seated shortly after we checked in and we spent about an hour there. This was our first visit and we had heard a lot of good things and we both enjoyed it. The cocktails were also back on today!

Made the short walk back to Epcot and queued for a while to get back in through the International Gateway entrance and on to our fast pass slots at Soarin'. DH went ahead to the lockers at the front of the park to retrieve the jumpers we had stashed in a locker earlier and I took a slow walk to the land to meet him (having a bad feet day today!) We went straight on Soarin' and had to wait about 15 minutes - the fast pass line is not particularly fast on this ride but the wait is worth it. Not been on this one for a couple of years and I think it is my 2nd favourite attraction throughout Disneyworld after Philharmagic.

By the time we left it was around 8.35pm so we headed over to get a spot for Reflections of Earth, eventually settling just before Mexico and waiting the 10 minutes or so for the show to begin. As good as always and we left afterwards with the crowds, walked back to car and were back at SSR a little before 10pm both tired and looking forward to bed... we are getting so old!

Rubbish photos of the fireworks:
