If you are flying direct to the US and not via the EU then the rules are still the same.

Passport needs to be valid for the trip.

Should be ok for USA. There’s a link you can check for Europe. I was shocked when I inputted DS. I can’t remember exactly how long but he loses a significant amount of time on his passport and I will have to renew way ahead of the expiry date on his passport.😏

There's been no change in passport requirements travelling to the USA on the basis that your passport is issued by UK, RoI and all these other countries. No grace is required and only needs to be valid for length of stay.

If you are transiting via the EU though you may need 6 month's grace but others who do that should be able to confirm.

Mick

PS New passport = new ESTA ;)

Here’s the link for checking your passport for Europe - just in case you do have to go via Europe.

Same, just checked ours and they aren’t valid now for Europe. We will lose 6 months. Will leave it a bit longer before renewing to see if the US in August comes off (we’re flying direct fortunately).

Surely blue ones will be recently issued, and therefore not close to expiry, thus this issue doesn't come into question.
