We would like to go see a basket ball game or maybe soccer in august/september in orlando, what is the best site to check out what on that time of year? :)

I don’t know about basketball but for the football have a look at the Orlando City website.

NBA (Miami Heat, Orlando Magic) - the regular season usually starts late October so this is unlikely to be an option, but depends on what their pre-season schedule is like.
MLS (Tampa, Jacksonville) regular season usually begins around March and runs through until October, with the play-offs and post season games going into November. Just depends if a Florida based team gets through!
NFL will be on (Tampa Bay Buccs, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars), the regular season begins early September but there will be pre-season games on in August.

Anyway, they're the 3 biggies for you to look.

Thanks Paul!
Were best place to buy tickets for these games?

Try each teams website. They should give you options for ticket purchase.

Baseball will also be on - Tampa Bay Rays are the nearest MLB team (or Miami Marlins if down that way) or there are minor league teams closer to Orlando - such as Lakeland Tigers etc.

Orlando City are another option for 'soccer'. Unfortunately I doubt you'll get basketball as even the pre-season games don't start until the October.

Just out of season for ice hockey
Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL will start early October with pre-season games in mid-late September
Orlando Solar Bears usually start mid-October

I always suggest minor league baseball to get a lovely dose of Americana for next to nothing.

If you're going to Orlando City, I'd suggest leaving it until late on and buying re-sale tickets from Stubhub - you'll pay far less than from the club themselves.

Don't forget College Football (NCAA) a real slice of Americana

I tend to go on ticket master, type in Orlando and your dates, it will pull up all games etc that are on around those dates.
