Can someone explain this for dummies please

I have recently bought a Go Pro Hero 2018 with 2x 64gb memory cards and 1x32gb

I really dont want to take my laptop with me but will need to clear the memory card a couple of times over the 3 weeks

Am i right in thinking if i put the sd card in this and a usb stick it will transfer it without the need for my laptop?

Yes but it acts as a wifi router which you'll need to connect to via your phone or ipad. You can you can then use an app called FileHub Plus to tell the device what files you want to copy between your card and USB stick (I used an external hard drive, laptop sized).

It's a bit awkward at first but once I got my head around it I managed to get it working reliably.

I used one on my last visit, took all photos and videos off at the end of the day into a day1,2,3 folder on a hard drive. Backing up from a Go-pro, camcorder and an SLR at various points. It worked really well on both a phone and Ipad.
