Student Accom in Manchester

Ds got a late offer for a place in Manchester. We went down last week and he is very keen (Me, not so much LOL). We have tried to book accom for him close to Uni but it seems to full, any suggestions from dibbers with regards to getting him safe and secure accom. He would be going into 1st year.

Thanks x

Go on to the student room. There are forums for each uni and maybe post on there. Some accommodation may release on results day.

Talk to the accommodations team at the university they will be able to advise you, both uni of and met have partner halls as well as there being quite a range of private halls.

Did you try Picadilly Point by the rail station. My daughter lived there the first two years when at Uni. The rent did keep increasing though and she moved to Fallowfield area then.

People will have reserved places and then not got tge grades so spaces in halls may become available.

Also OP is your son registered with the uni for booking accommodation through their system? At met this is a 3-stage process, and covers the uni halls and partner-provided ones specific to students at met.

DS has just finished his 1st year at Manchester Uni. I understood that all 1st years are guaranteed a place in halls as long as they apply through the proper University channels.
DS had to wait until the day after the A level results came out before he knew what halls he was allocated out of his choice of 3. He has been happy in the Fallowfield area and going into a house share next year.
Any questions I can ask him.
