Our 1st DVC Stay - LIVE - March 2011 - Day 10

After the last couple of late mornings we thought we'd better set the alarm this morning otherwise it would be lunchtime before we even woke up!:d: We seem to have got over our not sleeping properly and are catching up!

Left around 11am and headed off property for our first meal and Bob Evans was the eatery of choice - it's a favourite and we also had a gift card to use. I opted for the half sandwich (Pot Roast) and soup (Cheddar Baked Potato) and DH had the turkey dinner which was turkey, mash, carrots and stuffing. As usual a lovely meal - we both highly recommend this place for it's home style cooking - the only problem we find is that there is just too much choice! :d:

After eating we headed to the Sun Trust bank at Downtown Disney to open an account - this was based on recommendations on the DVC forum on here - we want to be able to send money regularly ready to pay our annual dues as they are due right after Christmas and also it may be a good way of saving some spending money for when we are here! We were helped by the nicest lady - Melissa - and it was very easy to do. If anyone is interested you only need your passport and driving licence and money for the initial deposit and you are away. Any questions feel free to ask.

We then headed back to SSR and DH spent some time on his iPod while I caught up with posting the previous three days on here as I'd let it slip a little! A couple of hours later we started on the packing - 2 cases done and we assessed that we may need another bag so will pick that up tomorrow. Packing to go home is so much easier - just whack everything in and worry about it when you are home!

This is me in trip report writing position - DH has seen a lot of me here - I'll be glad to get home to my wireless internet connection!

Before we knew it, it was 5pm and we headed off to the pool for an hour to chill in the Spa and catch the last of the evening sunshine - it was a good time to go as there was plenty of space and free loungers as people had started heading off for their evenings. The two Spas at the main pool are lovely and warm and the jets are really strong and relaxing. I even ventured into the main pool but it was too cold for me!

We headed back to the room for showers before heading out for dinner and Fantasmic late show at 10pm. Dinner choice tonight was DH's and he chose Santa Fe. If you have never been it is definately one to try (unless you're a veggie or have a nut allergy!) if only for the chance to eat nuts and throw the shells on the floor. Here's DH attacking the bucket of nuts:

We shared Nachos to start - they were good:

And entrees were Beef Sirloin Salad for me and Sirloin Tips with Peppers and Onions with Mash and Broccoli for DH. Both were lovely - my steak was cooked perfectly and I remembered pictures!

Over dinner DH suggested that instead of Fantasmic, we went to the beach at Polynesian to watch the fireworks at MK which is something I had really wanted to do this trip and it was also give my feet lots of rest - he really is thoughtful, :inlove: I'm so lucky! Called at Walmart for a $10 bag and got to the Poly in time to get a cocktail (Mai Tai for me and Berry Mojito for DH) before settling on the beach which was really busy. If you have never watched the fireworks from here, try and find time to do it. The music is piped in and you get a completely different perspective and I think appreciate the hugeness of the show.

Just made it back to SSR before Artist's Palette closed at 11pm so coffee and rice krispies treats in bed tonight while watching Seinfeld.

Here are some photographs of our room... our home for our 12 day vacation.
