Air Canada only offering credit note for cancelled flight
We were due on an Air Canada booking. Dublin-Vancouver on AC’s own metal and back Newark to Dublin with United. Last night I found out they have suspended the Dub to Vancouver route for the season and rerouted us via Toronto. AC are saying it’s a credit note only and it took a lot of effort to get the agent to admit that this was a cancelled flight. He made several attempts to tell me it wasn’t cancelled if they were getting us there via Toronto 🙄
Anyway, I believe we are covered under EU261 and entitled to be offered a refund. I also find the DOT US rules for a refund might apply as our itinerary also involves the US. So, I am going to do a charge back under the EU261 rule. My question is, if I lose the charge back claim can I then accept the travel credit or am I risking being left with nothing in the event my charge back is unsuccessful? |
This might help sorry notbread it all the way though https://www.bottonline.co.uk/flight-...sked-questions
