Fort Myers Beach - Opinions

Now things are looking up, thoughts are turning toward Summer 2022.

Does anybody have any thoughts, experiences etc of Fort Myers Beach for 2-3 nights?

Seems like it could be a nice and relaxed start before heading to Orlando given we would be looking to fly into Tampa or Miami.

I'm busy posting now. :grin::grin::grin::grin:

We've stayed at FMB a couple of times for a week or so but maybe 20 years ago so no current experience. We had some nice meals at beachfront restaurants which may have closed now :(

If you or family are interested in America scientific and industrial history though I can recommend a trip here. It's in downtown FM but not much of a drive.

Thanks Mick. Bit of history on holiday is always good 👍

We have visited FMB a lot, but we do prefer Marco island further down if your time can stretch to that.

Stayed in Bonita Springs a couple of times just South of Fort Myers

Lovely beaches in the area especially Lovers Key, Barefoot beach and Delnor Wiggins pass

I can also recommend a visit to the Edison Ford estate

If you love classic racing cars there is also the Revs institute (museum)

Outlet shopping at Estero

Lots of sand dollars from beaches in the area

Been a few times and it’s an ok holiday place, not too expensive with a good beach. Sanibel and Captiva Islands are close and are lovely, we prefer them to Marco

Another vote for Captiva we absolutely love the place (south seas resort) :)

Not been for a few years but had some lovely stays of a few days there when the children were smaller. Stayed at the Gullwing Resort several times which was right on the beach.

Stayed at Best Western at Fort Myers Beach, breakfast included, right on the sands, balcony overlooking the Gulf, but a bit of a walk to the pier and 'town' though, but a nice walk down there on the beach itself.
Stunning sunset, and we saw the moon 'set' as well not long after, which was memorable for us :erm:
Sand dollars galore in the shallows, crunching underfoot!
I remember the resident chatty parrot as you checked in.
