After our quick trip to LA this summer, I'm avidly reading anything and everything to do with west coast trips and I've just loved reading yours from 2008.

It was nice to see what had changed and to see photos of things we had seen to. Don't think the Garden Walk Mall has changed much, still very empty but we did eat at the Cheesecake factory. We too couldn't manage desserts except at CF when we just had to take them with us and eat them the next day.

I've made lots of notes and hope that we can have a family holiday there next year for dh's 50 and our 25th, thank you so much for sharing x

You're very welcome! Thank you for your lovely comments. I cant wait to go back to the west coast but it won't be for at least another 2 years as we are planning on going to New Zealand for my 50th in 2014 ... And saving in 2013!

What a wonderful time I've had this morning reading through this trip report in full!
It made very good reading (apart from your log adventure! :omg:) - thank you for taking the time to put it all down :thumbs-up

Have just emailed hubby at work with some bits of info :)
I'm wondering if he'd be up for (or persuadable into) a trip out west? I certainly would. you've really whetted my appetite!
Hubby's been to LA, Las Vegas and quite a bit of Cali really but before we met so hopefully , as he's always telling me how great it was, he might want to take li'l ole' me and the boys :d::d:

Seems a scary prospect though, planning such a trip.
We've planned Orlando 3 times DIY though, and New York DIY one time too so maybe I might start at least 'thinking' about it...

Anyway I digress, thanks again, it was brilliant! :thumbs-up:thumbs-up

Thanks. I've always found other people's trippies a great help in planning so Im glad I can give back in return.

Planning a trip to the West Coast was quite scary the first time but it is so worth it! We much prefer it to Florida now as we feel we have only skimmed the surface as thre is so much to see. Can't wait to go back :)

I've really enjoyed reading the Smokey Mountain trippies and hope I can go there one day too.
