Best order of Universal

Any advice on the best way round to do Universal.
I've read loads of trip reports and some say upper lot the lower lot, some say head straight to HP first, any help would be appreciated. We will be going in August this year.
Thanks

We haven't been since HP opened. It used to be best to get to the studio tour done first, but if your reason for going is for HP, then I guess go there first, especially for the forbidden journey. Being more of locals park, it should be pretty quiet early on, hence getting the tour out of the way before queues build, (the tour is the best bit of the studios IMO!). Depends whether you plan on being there from opening to closing.

We went last year and intended on doing the lower lot first- however it didn’t open till later in the morning. We managed to do everything we wanted to though x

If you buy your tickets from Universal Direct, then you get into HP world and hour before the rest of the upper lot opens.

We did this, then got onto the Studio Tour ride, followed by Simpsons and then down to the lower lot. Did what we wanted there and back up to the upper lot.

We did the water world show towards the end of the day.

Both times we have been we got everything we wanted to done in a day and left well before closing time.

It depends a lot on the time of year... for example, last September & this May we went straight to HP (in both Universal & IOA) and walked straight on. We had express passes in May which the girls used later in the day when the queue was longer.
On both occasions we were out of the parks before 4pm having done everything we wanted - and some more than once!

Thanks, sounds as if I don't maybe need to plan it as much as I'm thinking then. Thanks all
